while reading the bolg of Mr. Koo... i know some more about this country, say exactly... it is a place of wealthy and poor people.... the gap between the rich and the poor is getter wider and wider...

what i am trying to say... i am the lucky one... staying in a family with father and mother, with  two sisters.... we DO have arguments, fightings.... but what you read from Louis Koo's blog, you can see ~  the two kids do not have father~ they live in a shanty~ and no clean water , not even enough food to eat ~

i want my trip meaningful, i wanna bring something to them ~ LOVE and share ~ July 3 to 22, my first time to Nepal and really hope that I will bring some "stuff" , that meaningful and good to them...  i will go with 4 other classmates to a small village in Nepal ~ and will teach some primary kids English and Maths...  and bring a Good News to them...  and that is...

    Jesus LOves Them~

    What is Future Village??

Future Village , a two-storey cottage with Nepal architectural style, is located in a hillock with an altitude over 1000 meters in Katunge Village Ward 9 in Dhading District, stretching 100 kilometers away from the capital, north of Kathmandu in Nepal .

The Village was founded in mid 2004 by a group of enthusiastic visitors from Hong Kong , who raised fund to build the cottage. The project idea originated from a Nepal expression: ¡§N-Never, E-Ends, P-Peace, A-And, L-Love¡¨. Visitors can serve this " Kingdom of Mountain " while they are exploring the wonders of landscape and meaning of life during their trip.

Instructions for Future Village English Class Voluntary Teachers

Teaching Time: two sessions per day, each session about 1:30 hrs

First Session: 7:30am (the time can be adjusted due to the local situation)

    Second Session: 5:30pm

Usually, a new topic needs one full day (2 sessions) to teach, one session teaching, another session mainly for revision and practice. But you can make adjustment based on your case.

Target Students: Mainly Primary students (class 1 to class 5)

For easier teaching, we divide students into two groups and attend different sessions.

Each section we have about regular students 15-20.

Teaching materials: There are quite a lot English Teaching books inside Future Village’s small library, those material will give you more ideas how to teach.

Also, you can also refer to  Future Village teaching Record which is in the library of Future Village to see what students have learnt before.

    Teaching approaches:

    1. To avoid the language barriers, try to use more pictures to help to explain the meaning of words to kids. Dambar or other local people will help do translation whenever you need or have any problem.

    2. Try to repeat and repeat that will help students to remember what they learn.

    3. Try to use more interactive ways to teach, use your imagination to create some actions, games or even songs for your teaching topics.

    4.  Before you start a new topic, you can always do a short revision for kids

    5. Don’t try to give gifts to kids very easier, always listen and follow our colleague’s instruction

yap... i think it may not be a easy task ~ but i will try my best to do it !

i will post more about the Nepal plan ... just share a little piece of note with all blog-comers...
