    Play related news, Lowercase n is back in the rehearsal rooms tomorrow to finish writing the four songs we're going to record. We'll be heading into St James studios in the yet to be determined future. So far we have one song that is complete, one song that is still being organized and one song that is half way complete but we haven't played it for a few months. There is talk of an instrumental track, lots of sonic ambience from Tone and folky accousitics from Andrew while Gwynn and I sit around in our melody and groove respectivly. It is looking like a great little EP so far, definetely the sort of thing I'd buy for myself.

    Tone has gone all William Gibson-esc cool on us. A few weeks before Christmas he was talking about genre and what genre we would be. We're not realy pop or indie, we are definitely not rock and folk is in there but not a main style. One thing we do know is that thanks to Tone love of effects peddles and the Jazz chorus that Gwynn was using the last few months there is a Shoegaze element to our sound also. But we can't keep answering the inevitable "what style/kind of music do you play" with a 6 long list. So Tone decided that we should start saying we are 'Folkgaze' as folk and shoegaze are the most prevalent styles that we hear in rehearsal. He googled the term to see if anyone else was using it. Short answer to that first search, no, no one else used it. The other day he googled the term again, this is what he found. Take note of the first search result. =D

    So, William Gibson-esc cool worked a treat don't you think?

    FLAG- The is just a quick little accoustic demo of the song we haven't played for a few months. It is going to be re-recorded with the whole band (so my electric bass will b e heard on there). The song when it's recorded next will also have me singing the harmonies.

    SEEKER- I hope you get a change to listen one day and once we have a new song online I'll let you know.

    JRS- It looks like we'll be using the 'folgaze' term from here on in. I know Tone isn't gonna drop it, not now that we have others using the term.

    Sounds like you're having a blast with this. That's great! I'll have to check out your other sites & hear the demo.

    I guess there are good reasons to classify bands.  I googled and heard the demo at your website.  Very mellow. I was expecting your electric bass.  Was it there?

    Cool!  I think you guys should definately invent your own term for your sound....folkgaze sounds a lot better than grunge (famous in my neck of the woods!).
