I am a Chinese American singer and songwriter. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and lived on the East Coast for 15 years before I returned to California a few years ago. My passionate affinity for music transcends all genres and styles, but my eternal love for R & B and jazzy, soulful music is the strongest and most influential in my singing and songwriting style. I am enamored with the contemporary genre of Neo-Soul because of its soulful groove, soothing subtlety, and eclectic fusion of music origins. I also think this genre of music best show-cases the bluesy and soulful sound in my voice. Artists who inspire me and move me include Maxwell, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, India Arie, Alicia Keys, and Joss Stone.
For the past year, I have been thoroughly enjoying writing original songs with producer and music composer Johnny Chao, Jr. (http://www.johnnychao.com and www.alivenotdead.com/johnnychao). One of the products of our collaboration is a sweet jazzy tune, “Fall Like Autumn Leaves," which is on my music playlist.
I am truly grateful for all that has transpired since I began traversing on this fateful journey to explore my artistic talents and have complete faith that God will continue to bless my music career with boundless and enriching opportunities.
