back from a great trip to japan tokyo/kyoto with a brief stopover at taiwan to visit my aunt/grandpa/grandma and a 2 hr stopover in hk where i found andy!

the japanese maple trees in kyoto were probably the prettiest thing i've seen in a very long time, i have so many photos/stories/thoughts that need to be posted soon. it's such a different culture. will have to wait a few days though, have to go help mom set up the Christmas tree in a bit (thanksgiving wkend tradition), read over conrad's UC application, and prepare tummy to brace another Thanksgiving dinner! Yesterday was already the start of the eating marathon :) Baked apple crisp with Amrit and Allison and enjoyed a super delish pre-thanksgiving meal where Allison cooked my favoritest candied yams.

for now though, just a random observation of how wonderfully uplifting a genuine compliment can be. it really takes so little to make people smile.
