Due to some major roadblocks, seen and
unforeseen, my theatre company has postponed our upcoming workshop
production. Below is a re-post of the announcement.
Having to
re-schedule, or more precisely, reaching such a low-point during
preparations that you realize you have to pull the plug, is always a
depressing thing. But, having been through it several times, and having
benefitted in the long run, it almost always becomes a blessing in
disguise, since somehow you make the outcome even better than you had
planned. During preproduction of my short film, "Day of Independence,"
we were so behind, bogged down, understaffed and unprepared, that we
cancelled the shoot (I wasn't even sure we'd ever reschedule), and it
was a rough 9 months before we got back on our feet. But, in the
meantime, many things fell into place that allowed us to succeed far
beyond our original plan, I'm now so glad that it did happen. Among
other things the delay allowed for was bringing on producer Lisa
Onodera, finding an amazing location and community in Stockton, CA, and
my being able to play the role of The Umpire.
So, I look forward with optimism, in what otherwise feels like a dark moment.
Thanks for your support, all,
—CT
