Yesterday I took a little motorcycle ride with a friend of mine. The weather was beautiful.
We rode up to Memphis Tennessee because he knew they had just opened a new Harley Davidson shop near Graceland. woo-hoo   He is a total Harley lover, he has a great bike, beats my little Honda Shadow.  But I still love mine!
We had a great ride there and back.  While we were there we walked up to look over the wall at Graceland.  We didn't really want to do the tour because the lines were so long and we had other stuff we wanted to do - more Harley stuff he wanted to show me
I didn't mind, I was glad he let me tag along.  This was my first trip on this bike and it was a 2 hour ride.  We went the first, almost 70 miles then stopped for breakfast.  I haven't done much Highway riding because my last bike was so small.  It took me this first 70 miles to get used to my bike and the vibrations and wind off the big trucks.  After breakfast we set off again, about another 70 miles to Memphis.

Out first stop was at a gas station to fill up and to buy lottery tickets!
Then we set off to the Graceland Harley Davidson souvenir shop. heehee I picked up some shirts for me and the girls.  We walked over to look at  Elvis' house.  My friend said that next time we ride up we'd go on the tour.

ok- so here's the pictures I took

Lots of writing on this wall!  That's Elvis' house in there!

You can see how many people were taking tours and it was only 9am.

I didn't really want my picture taken since I had a helmet on all morning!!

Here I am again - at the Gates of Graceland! See the house in the distance.
I wasn't really dressed for pictures.

After Graceland, we hit the road heading for the other Harley shop.  There were lots of cool bikes and stuff there.    Then he wanted to go look around at the big Bass Pro Shop - yet another guy-haven.  I got my dad a shirt there.   Like I said, I didn't mind doing guy stuff because he didn't have to invite me to ride along, he goes up there alot.  He's a pretty cool old guy, a friend of my dad's.
We had a fun time, I think he was glad to have company on the trip.
The ride home was a little tougher, there was a strong "quarter-wind"  which is a wind coming diagonal across you.  Makes riding a motorcycle tough.  That and the big trucks and cars wanting to pass you no matter what the speed limit or how fast you're already going.

I was exhausted, but it was a great day.

Definitely more difficult on the highway, but also, I found, an invitation to open it up and go at insane speeds.  At least that's what I'd do, idiot.  I'd be more responsible now (I'm sure).
