A Day at Heifer Ranch
Today I took my new boss to Heifer's Ranch. It's only about 45 minutes away from our Headquarters building downtown.
I
was a little worried about the weather, it was raining when I left for
work. I knew it wouldn't be to much fun to be on an outdoor 'adventure'
on a yucky rainy cold day.
By the time we headed out, 9am, the
rain had stopped but it was gloomy downtown. As we drove the clouds
were moving pretty quickly - back toward town! Yeah! The sun started
poking its head out about 10 miles from the Ranch.
How wonderful!
By
the time we arrived the sun was shinning and the temperature was
getting warmer. The wind was still blowing with pretty strong gusts.

It felt more like March than January!

Most of the animals were up for the winter.
The sheep were out in the outer pastures, as were most of the cattle.
Somehow
today I got away without a picture of Briggs & Stratton... my
favorite Water Buffalo! So here's a picture from this summer.

Here's another of the large draft animals we have on the ranch, these are definitely workers and not pets!
Today turned out beautiful!!

I can't wait until I get to go back! I may get to participate in the Lambing this March!
