I found this great little box at a little hole in the wall store downtown. It's the kind of shop that is chock-full of odds-n-ins that seem out of place. It's not exactly a second hand store and not exactly a flea market. The people that run it just travel around and buy thing from all sorts of venues and bring it back to their store.
It's located in an old part of town that is being rejuvenated, so its the up-and-coming area right now.

Well about the box...
It's about 8 inches wide, 4 inches deep and 4 inches tall.
I'm not sure if its age, it may be a replica or just an ornate box.
There are pretty gold painted pictures on the front and on top is Fu. The inside is covered with newsprint.

haha. i can guess that . i think it is half good half bad for women. i like the girl follow it but not stern them keep it all.^^

Truthfully- These rules were also followed in the US. Not so much now days - but in past years. I remember growing up, my mother and grandmother trying to teach me to be a Lady. Which is more or less the rules of obedience and morality that your talking about.

yes. in chinese special in old time. the girl will marry . before this the mother should tell and teach the girl how to do well in the new family . how to respect the husband.take care of the new family. should not did somethinhg with no manners.

in old time the woman should follow the rules is “san cong si de”（meaning is 3 follow rules. keep 4 morality） this is the big rules. all women follow it .

the three obediences obey her father before marriage, her husband when married, and her sons in widowhood and the four virtues (morality, proper speech, modest manner and diligent work) of women in ancient China;spiritual fetters of wifely submission and virtue imposed on women in feudal society

wait wait . it seems like a gift the mother should send to baby girl. in the pics of middle. the have 4 words is “贤女敬夫” . look , a woman take tea to the man. the meaning is “good life should be respect husband”. this is one of women's rules in old chinese history.

the mother should teach the girl know these rules in each family. if not . then she will be think have no good family education.

That is beautiful and so unique! I wouldn't have been able to resist this either! Good for you. Oh, could you add me to your will because I would so take good care of some of your treasures!

I think there's a joke in the comedy world about women and buying boxes....how we love to collect boxes and things to put other things into. I have to agree.....
