Well, JRS showed how to make a quilt.
The closest thing to sewing I usually do is to put the logo on our uniforms for TKD.
I've got a great little embroidery machine.

All I have to do is to hit the 'start' button and this baby does all the work!

Tonight I had 6 uniforms to do so I thought I'd take some pictures and share the experience.

Start with a new gi. Well, hopefully it's new and the student hasn't worn it right before I get it!

The hoop holds the fabric taunt so the pattern sews properly-

Can't forget the backing! This makes the pattern hold it's shape better.

Look the machine has a computer, and I touch the screen- see the little symbol - below the timer.

Attach the hoop to the bar on the machine -

Now starts the fun part - I press START and the noise begins!
It's kinda fun to watch the progress.

The LAST STITCH!!

Take the hoop off the machine -

Clean off the backing-

Trim all those threads!

The students get these patches at their first Promotion (testing)

So- that's the most interesting thing I've done tonight - besides clean my room and clean the kitchen.

Lol@ Flag's song. I remember that commercial jingle. What the heck was the product, anyway.

That fund is so cool Critter. Nice work on the patch & uniform too! I'm so unproficient in the domestic arts in general it's pitiful. Prolly cuz the desire wasn't really there either, except sporadically. Too busy reading, writing & running my mouth. Those are my 3 R's hahah.

Yep! I started doing these and getting $5 per. This helped me pay my dues each month. Now I just have them give money to the fund at our head school. It's like a emergency fund for anyone who , well has a need.
About 2 yrs ago, my car was broken into and they stole all the change, the cd's and all our freggin sparing gear! It just happened that at the next testing we were having a raffle to raise money for work to be done at the school. They raised about $400. Then when our head instructor was announcing all this about how much was raised, he told what they were going to do with the money. Get me and my girls new gear. How cool is that! That was the start of the fund, now people just give a little here and there and it is building and waiting.

Blues music.....ba ba ba ba ba, she can bring home the bacon, fries it up in a pan, she paints, and lays floor and everything more, cause she is Critterdee, she's bad, she's so bad, and in her spare time, she does needlepoint, ba ba ba ba ba .... Ok bad blues but you get the idea. You so talented. Those look so nice. Do you do it for the rest of the tribe?

Critter, you're so high tech! I might as well be using a trundle sewing machine compared to your fancy schmancy computer gizmo! (Boy, do I feel old.....)

This is so awesome! Now I want one of these machines...you always have the coolest toys, Critter!

I had the logo downloaded onto a 'smartstick' that fits the machine. I had to take a copy of the logo, on a cd, to a local sewingmachine and embroidery shop. They transfered the info into the 'language' of the machine and loaded the smartstick. Because it was only one color and less than a certian stitch count, it only cost about $35-40 to have all that done.
