My short film "Vienna and the Fish" is finalist in YouTube's "Life in a Day"

I entered the Ridley Scott-produced and YouTube-sponsored "Life in a Day" contest with a short film featuring my then 6-month old daughter Vienna. And we have been selected as in "the final 100 hours of footage"! Cool stuff! Out of that 100 hours of footage, I believe 20 directors are selected for inclusion in the final film "Life In a Day"--a feature which will debut at Sundance and get global theatrical release. Will post some stills soon!

"Little Sister" to debut next month at Toronto Intl Film Fest!

Film I am Associate Producer on "Little Sister" and debuting at 11 Sept 2010 Toronto Intl Film Fest now has its info page up on TIFF site; schedules to follow soon. Dan Carew has worked as a life guard, high school history teacher, chef, journalist, seaman, activist, technician, software developer, business analyst, senior IT executive for adidas and now IT consultant and filmmaker. Originally from New York and New England, he has spent half his life in Asia, including 14 years in Tokyo. He currently lives in Hong Kong with his wife and newborn daughter. He owns a Red One MX camera (with an Epic coming soon) and runs a small boutique digital cinema production company. His first film was a feature shot on 20 locations in Tokyo, “Indebted,” which he wrote, directed, produced and edited himself. His second film was a short called “Hard Fall” about the death of a banker in Hong Kong has been nominated for two prizes (“Best Film Under 15 Minutes” at 2009 International Film Festival of South Africa and “Best Foreign Language Film” at Filmmaker’s Festival in Kent, England). He also served as Associate Producer, Chief Technical Consultant and provider of digital cinema production and post-production gear on “Little Sister”, a fairy tale shot in rural Yunnan, China, produced and directed by Richard Bowen (A.S.C.) He is currently working on scripts for two features. He and his company are providing cameras, production gear and expertise to “Super-Capitalist”, written and produced by Derek Ting and directed by Simon Yin.
