Dpak, back

just touched down back into HK last night. within hours, saw some friends who are in town from NYC for the New Grand Tour Exhibition. Stopped by the space as they were prepping for the opening and I'm mad excited to see it pop off tonight. If you're in Hong Kong, go peep it - it's up for three weeks and there's guaranteed goodness from the foursome... SUPPORT THE FRIGGIN ARTS. bring your damn checkbooks, bring wads of cash, buy some art. I must admit, I only started buying art this last year, mainly because I could never afford anything but also because deep down inside, I always felt that it was something snooty rich people did to make themselves feel cultured.  While I still can't say for sure why snooty rich people buy art,  I can say that I was 100% wrong to assume that that's all there is to it. Collecting art is seriously important for me now because at the very base level, it reminds me that there are people out there who are creating things for the  fundamental sake of creating them - because they have shit running around in their heads that is better suited in physical form and shared. And as someone who tries pretty hard to be an artist, that reminder is so necessary. And that's why it's important to support these artists. If you like a band's music, you buy their CD. You go to their shows. And in return, that monetary support allows them to make their next album. And to tour more. and etc. So, there's my moment of seriousness... please support these artists so they can continue to create and inspire hacks like me.

and speaking of art... here's a little sneak peak at one side of the new art work on my arm, since some of you  were curious... if you see this arm (and it's owner) loafing around in HK, come say hello. I've always dreamt of being blog-famous.
