i now have yet another way to say nonsensical shit and make an ass of myself in korean

I sent a reply email to an ad agency who inquired about my work through a friend. After I sent the email, I decided to ask my friend to give it a read. Right, I know, it was pretty smart to ask my friend to proof it after I sent it…

I asked my friend to give me a rough translation of what I wrote, just for humor’s sake. Apparantly, I wrote the following:

“Greetings, I am that boy photographer from America who ______ told you about. I was quite pleased and grateful that you contacted me and that you like my work and my mood. Furthermore, I am eager to show you that I am good . Thank you for reaching out to me and if you care, I can come there.

*** fuckin’ aye, first of all, i referred to myself as “that boy photographer” … then i told the guy that i was glad he liked my “mood” ?!?!? i think i was trying to say that it put me in a “good/hopeful mood” or something, but i’m not even sure anymore. then i wrote the equivalent of “furthermore” after only saying one thing (and saying it inaccurately). then i asked him if he “cared” (about what?!?!), then i offered to go “there” (where??!?!? jeeeezuz). the part where i say i’m eager to show that “i’m good” is just plain awesome. i don’t regret that one. ***

anyway, the guy called me and seemed impressed with my willingness to try and communicate with him in Korean. if not impressed, than at least appreciative that I would humiliate myself in order to make the effort. I think that shit counts and I’m glad he did, too.
