HK STOP MOTION part 1&2

That's a summery of all paintings and 2 events that formed "HK STOP.MOTION" project. 

The first part happen @ Kapok in Wanchai (Sun Street 3) on 12 of August - a great opening with live music by Ghetto J, Yin John, Peter Krupps and special guest RootsBoy. Many peoples, outside projection, paintings and video. I get closer to Wanchai after this. 

For the second part we moved all paintings to Culture Club (Elgin Street 15 Soho). I added few more works with LED lighting incorporated. On 30 of September we had once again a great evening with a lot of interesting peoples. I was pleased to see it happen.

...

What's next ? I will show some of the paintings on TEDEx Pearl River event by the end of the month. But I guess what is more important than new exhibitions it's to revise what I've done and find a new topics for explorations. There's the story of movement and there is the story of angels in the city - peoples becoming angels because of the speed - I guess that's the path to follow.

NEW PAINTINGS GIRAFFES

I thought one day that the city could be seen as a zoo for humans and it would be interesting to take a wild animal as the observer - that is how the idea started. I was looking for a species that would be unadapted to living in this zoo but also an animal that people can not look down at.

I decided upon the giraffe. The long neck of the giraffe highlights the viewing process; they have a gentle and curious way of watching. The giraffe has also some formal/metaphorical similarities with the city reminding me of skyscrapers, exotic top models and a desire of getting higher.

The story continues as an exploration of patterns, line and colorsurface. The graphical and geometrical language opposes to the movement of the brush and abstract expresionism. It’s a story relating wild nature with the wild city organism.


The exhibition is open to the public
from 24 of June till 24 of July , from 5pm till late

A painting DAY with GIraffes

I'm painting recently giraffes overlaying them with a city pattern. The curious animals are walking around the town and will finally finish its safari in Philia Loounge this Thursday from 7pm. If you're around - drop by!

Voila!! That's all paintings that was exhibited in Sense99 during April. "Walking to the TOP" was the title for all month art event. Many thanks to all musicians Ghetto J, Thomas, Yin, Peter Krupps, Crazy Lion,Les Grosmechkos, Brass Band that was bringing some fresh air to the regular jaming sessions. Leslie Lachiche provided a very nice building looking candles and finally Peter Krupps, one more time, presented still shots from central escalator and also MANY thanks for them. The 2,3 of April at 22h in Sense99 we will open an exhibition of XYZ paintings. Topic ; Walking to the TOP. Supported by a music performance by Thomas and Peter Krupp the exhibition will show different aspects of walking in the crowd - loosing identity, merging into the city and disappearing in motion. Feel invited.

I like how Bruce Lee is watching, calm like the water. I will find objects that peoples are looking AT or looking FOR and stick them to the paintings. This collection is about LOOKING and DESIRE. Is it clear? Doesn't need to.
