concert @ le Palais des Beaux Arts ( Brussels /Belgium)

Here are some pics from my concert in Brussels @ le Palais des Beaux Arts this spring. It was an acoustic gig with the great guitarist Shanka... We had a blast !!!
(The dress is by Laura Ka !) I'll be posting more tour photos soon...;)

France de Griessen 是一名半荷蘭,半比利時裔的歌手，音樂人以及藝人。
她曾在布魯塞爾，巴黎，紐約和新墨西哥居住。
現居於巴黎，但她從沒有跟她的多元文化分離，因此她的歌曲有法語的，亦有英語的。

受著Hole, L7, Nirvana, The Velvet Underground, Johnny Thunders　以至Johnny Cash, Bruce Springsteen 或 Marie Laforêt　的影響，France－跟Shanka ( No One Is Innocent, Destruction Incorporated)一起合作－發掘了屬於她的聲音：一種混合了強而充滿詩意的帶民歌色彩的搖滾樂曲。

她以法語和英語演繹歌曲，因為她認為這些語言讓她能夠抒發她的情感，同時亦能讓她能為音樂注入獨特的節奏與能量。

« I’ve found out about country music it when I was living in the USA, and I was struck by its ability to convey emotions without any kind of artifice : the voice, a guitar, and that’s it. I always keep this in mind when creating music : I believe a good song should work with only voice and guitar. Everything else is a bonus.
I like punk and grunge because they come from the same source : sixties music. And sixties music very often had great melodies.
Then punk and grunge musicians re-interpreted it with different sounds, saturated guitars, different speeds and a different social context.
Being a rebel by nature, I was of course drawn to it ! »

她正在貫錄她的首張個人大碟，而她較早前與 « Teen Machine »的Michaël Gadrat共同合作的概念-大碟 « Billy » (2005)的靈感則來自被放逐的Billy The Kid的人生。

« I loved that story because it’s really about a man’s quest for freedom and finding one’s identity and place in a harsh world.
The fact that he was a boy and that I’m a girl did not matter to me at all, I feel powerful stories can be told regardless of gender. So I performed as a female version of Billy. »

因為這張大碟， France贏得了數個獎學金以及殊榮： Fondation Belge de la Vocation award-winner 於2003, Défi-Jeune (Direction Départementale de la Jeunesse et des Sports, France), Music Manager Forum (France) and the Division Culturelle de la SACEM (France)　亦曾給予她支持。

« Billy »曾被播放於法國，加拿大和美國的獨立製作無線電廣播臺頻道，曲目« J’ai Tué »更曾高居Radio Néo播放率排行榜達２個月之久。

Teen Machine也被邀請往法國第５頻道中演繹其中的２首歌曲。

於２００６年夏季，她開始了跟Shanka合作只有４首歌曲的細碟。
幾星期後，這慢慢演變成她的個人大碟項目。
美個歌手及音樂人 Elliott Murphy 和他的兒子 Gaspard Murphy, 鼓手 Pierre Belleville (Lofofora, Destruction Incorporated) 和 Yann Coste (No One Is Innocent, Marcel Bellucci Quartett, Doppler), 低音歌手 Bastien Burger ( Blackstrobe, Destruction Incorporated), 搖滾樂手 Vérole, 和小提琴家 Agnès Davan, 特雷門家 Olivier Daviaud 隨後亦參與了這個項目。

當No One Is Innocent的主音歌手Kemar聽到這些歌後，他提出了給予France為他們樂隊在２００７年１０月的演唱會當開幕嘉賓的機會。

一位當代的吉普賽女郎，夢想家，詩人以及獨立女性集於一身，France de Griessen創造了屬於她的世界，在這裏浪漫激情的跟甜蜜的共融，連憂鬱也被淨化了。

她未來個人大碟« Ballerina »的靈感來自於她自己的生活，再加上Marylin Monroe or Calamity Jane等其他女性。
