  • What An Amazing Comeback

    Here's a great article about Mickey Rourke's amazing comeback from the dumps to being the Oscar front-runner for Best Actor for the movie "The Wrestler".  I know show biz comeback stories are common but this guy really hit a low point.  If you read the whole article, I particularly admire the part where Director Darren Aronofsky resists the advice of his Hollywood colleagues to cast Nic Cage instead of Rourke.  Definitely looking forward to checking the film out.  Here's the link to the article, and below that is the trailer for the movie:

    very rare that the lines in the movie mirror square on to an individuals life.  can't wait to see it.

    dude ... it looks like a great movie.  i used to watch a lot of pro wrestling and those guys have it so hard.  so many have died before their time.  mickey reminds me of mr. perfect here...

    Rourke certainly looks the better part of a wrestler, coming from actually being one for a short period. His face is really ravaged....I used to think he was hot-sexy when he did "8 1/2 Weeks." I think his role in Sin City helped to get him back on the radar. (?)

    It is a great story. Everyone hits a low point at one time, he's proof that you just need to fight through it. It's also great to know there are still people like Darren Aronofsky out there.
