I'm a freelance dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
Hoi Yan Cheng was born and raised in Hong Kong. Graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), School of Dance with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree, majoring in ballet. She now works as a freelance dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
During her course of study, she was awarded a mainland China Culture Exchange Tour scholarship by the Hong Kong Bank foundation to attend to National Ballet of China, Shanghai Ballet Company, Beijing Dance Academy and Shanghai Dance School. She also actively involved Hong Kong Ballet Group Annual production, such as 「On Stage」, 」Peter and the Wolf」, 「Sleeping Beauty」, 「Don Quixote」, 「Coppelia」, etc.
After her graduation, Hoi Yan attended the 41st Bartholin International Ballet Seminar in Copenhagen, Denmark and also has further short term study in Amsterdam, London and New York. Hoi Yan also involves various Community Culture Ambassador Scheme of Leisure and Cultural Services Department, such as Greensco – 「The Magic Junk Box」, Y- Space - "Makeshift Theatre Project : Environmental and Modern Dance Performances", DanceArt - 「A Beautiful Life」 Dance Ambassador; she also actively involved in different dance productions, film productions, such as Leon Lai Film Production: Moonlight in Tokyo, dancers for the Film, Concert Dancers for Paula Tsui, 3M TVC, etc.
Hoi Yan had awarded as Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance. She is a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance and also award the Beijing Dance Academy Teacher’s Certificate. Hoi Yan currently a freelance dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
