Random Photo Entry

hello everyone,

it's been awhile since i last updated (seems like all my blogs start this way).  instead of writing a detailed entry on what i have been up to (because i'm lazy), i am going to post some photos i have taken for the past couple of months.


VANCOUVER:
i saw this sign when i was going to the bathroom where the film festival was held.  i stood there for a couple of minutes thinking about what could possibly be behind this door.  i was SO tempted to open it, but wussed out.  what do you think is lurking above?



GEORGIA:
this is a picture of the drive in fast food joint Sonic.  SO yummy!!!  they have the best drinks ever.  we were there around 5pm and i guess it was a bit early for dinner.  i wish they had one of these in NYC.


there is a place called Varsity that got a four and a half stars on CitySearch.  so we decided to see what all the hoopla was about.  the place was pretty busy... a good start.  but once we looked at the menu it was all down hill from there.  basically it's really cheap fast food, but the quality is worse.  it's more like the food you get at high school basketball games.  it was pretty bad (look at the picture).  but we ate most of it.  i ordered the chili dog.  yeah, i know what you are thinking.


when we were in Macon we went to this place.

you pay a standard fee and they sit you at a round table with strangers.  there is no menu and  the dishes are almost always the same.  nothing like comfort food.


the Christian wrestlers also wrestle for independent leagues when there is not a show.  we followed one of our subjects to an indie match which was held at a rollerskating rink! seeing the wrestling ring in the middle of the rink with disco balls was a surreal sight.



FLORIDA:
Tara and I took a break from shooting and went Florida to spend Christmas with her family.  her grandma lives in a gated community for people who are fifty and above.  when we visited her, it was bingo night!!!

it was a first time for me.

and guess who won $40?

talk about beginners luck.
the reason why i am holding a mini American flag is because when you shout 'BINGO!' you also have to wave the flag, so the "official" who checks your board knows where you are sitting.  i had to wave that sucker twice.  it was a bit awkward being the only Asian guy and having to shouting B-I-N-G-O, but who said being a winner was easy?


NEW YORK:
took my little friend H. Schmoozer to the vet.  he was SO scared!!! he was in his crouching tiger pose throughout the whole time.
