    hello everyone,

    'The Last Vacation', a little film i made a couple of years ago, is online for viewing.


    it's for an online competition where the film that gets the most votes gets to screen on Channel 13 before a feature.  so if you like the film i would appreciate it if you can vote for it.  but only do it if you like it.

    and since Mother's Day is approaching it seems like it would be appropriate to share the story behind the film.

    my mom is a single mother who lives in Korea.  i haven't lived with her since '92, when i came to the States.  one day my mother calls and tells me how tried she is and that she feel like she is getting too old to work.  for the first time in my life i started thinking about if i have been a good son to her.  i realized that  i am now at that age where i have to start thinking about taking care of my mother.  i guess it's something we all have to deal with one day. 

    being raised in Korea, you are taught not to express your feelings.  till this day it's really hard for me to express my love to my mother.  so this film is my way of saying 'thank you and i love you' to my mother.

    it was really good actually...the other two were ok too, but yours really touched on family values which was really nice...
    i think your mom must've been really touched watching this...=) great job...

    I think your short is beautifully crafted Jae Ho and I love that so much is said without having to be explicit.  I voted for you. Good luck!

    I didn't know your mum was a single parent.  I will be good to my mum. =)

    reel thirteen?!  that's awesome!  (ok...maybe i find it awesome cuz i've always loved channel 13).  i hope you win for all the folks watching on saturday night.

    as for your short, it's def. beautifully shot.  maybe it's because i'm korean too, but i understand how much is actually said in the simple act of painting mom's toenails.

    i'm sure your mom was happy herself.  hope you win!

    ps.  are you graduating this year/week too?

    It's a very poignant film and beautifully shot, especially at the waterfalls. Haerry Kim is wonderful as the mum. It's got my vote hands down.

    It's very hard to find yourself in the position of realising that you may have to take care of someone you love, and I am sure your mum will be proud of you and to see how far you have come. You've made her a beautiful dedication.
