I was having dinner last night with 2 of my friends before they went back to school at 7:30 pm, one of them told the other that she should maintain her not-so-slim-and-chubby body ‘coz that’s her asset, when suddenly she turned to me & said, “you know what some people told me that you’re pretty if only you’re not that thin”, (what?!) I got kind of furious & told her that I wasn’t born in this world to please anyone & besides I’m not thin, nor is the word “diet” in my vocabulary.
It’s irritating how they make comments like that, & to think that I don’t even know these people. Do they know that I only go out at home when I need to be at the grocery store, or at a resto? I eat everything that I desire in a day, just as long as I eat them in moderation, by moderation that means to me, as long as I eat them while I’m not yet full.
But in consolation my friend explained to me, that here, most people prefer to see women with more meat than those with fewer ones, that if I’ll be in another country in Asia maybe there, they’ll even find me prettier. Yeah, that’s another offensive remark.
I see lots of women here at AnD who are slimmer, but they look damn good, I don’t see anything wrong w/ how they look, so what’s the problem with me on being on the average scale? Oh, well, so what? As long as I feel healthy (although I don’t have any exercise!), I'm fine with that.
My parents, especially my mom, complain about my weight all the time, she thinks that maybe there’s something wrong about me that I should check on my doctor. In my mind, I know that the doctor will just tell me that there’s no problem about my weight, & yes, she really did say that! In addition she thinks that I look okay with my weight.
Well, people have their own perspective & opinions especially about looks, but like what I’ve said, it doesn’t matter to me. Most Asian women complains about their single eyelids, but for me, that’s what makes them beautiful & distinct.
