    Still one of the best, most concise pages of compiled links of aid organizations in Haiti: Huffington Post
    Red Cross and Partners in Health are both recommended. (Required time commitment: 20 seconds.)
    It's even easier to give to the Red Cross if you live in the United States, since all you have to do is text "Haiti" to "90999." Extraordinarily convenient, but I doubt this works outside the U.S. (Required time commitment: 5 seconds.)

    I've registered at the Center for International Disaster about trying to go to Port-au-Prince, but the lone runway at the airport is of course severely congested. Not much more to do right now except send cash everyday, and be thankful that we are capable of uniting in grief and human sympathy.

    This is a living nightmare for those people.  But they have been living a nightmare for so long and through so many crisis.  I think they are a resourceful people used to deprivation and come through this maybe even better than those of us who live in comfort and expect the government to handle everything for us.  thanks for the blog Jimmy.
