That's because I'm in a place called Sydney right now and nothing really budges. And now I catch myself loitering around this space because I'm in the middle of procrastinating. I've been doing it for quite a number of weeks now- flexible deadlines can be just as hazardous as rigid ones. I have come to the conclusion that I am really slow at animating feminine-oriented designs. I enjoy doing it but it takes a lot out of me. I would much rather put a glock or desert eagle in there somewhere. But I don't want to start having these kinds of email transactions with my client...

I was having a quiet drink with my Dad and some of his young friends when this beautiful thing exploded from the projector of a cwb bar. Needless to say, I was distracted from their discussions about God. I want to make a video like this. I will be helping out on a music video shoot tomorrow but I don't think they will let me sprinkle this sort of treatment on a cute canto-pop star.

Cultivating a film farm

Recently, I became inspired by a friend who keeps a record of every film he has watched in some rather epic spreadsheet file. I have started to do the same whenever I procrastinate and give Maya the silent treatment. I am trying to take a creative stance though, by categorizing this Great Wall list of Movies under different subheadings as well. Movies for different scenarios, situations, emergencies and fluctuating states of mind. For example, what would be the movie I put on if I am relaxing on a lazy Sunday afternoon and sewing buttons back onto my jeans in the most zen state- probably Preston Sturges' "Unfaithfully Yours". And what would I want to have playing on my television if I am hosting a small dinner party, then I accidently set a part of my kitchen on fire (that has really happened before) making my hungry, dinner guests uncomfortably awkward. I think I would want them to watch "Delicatessen", or something like Peter Greenaway's "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover". I want to include "Zardoz" of course, but I still need to come up with a suitable category for that film. Maybe the category/mood should simply be- 'when I feel like seeing Sean Connery with a rat on his face and prancing around like a tit wearing thigh high red bootsies'. Some day, I want to print out and laminate these lists and sell the posters successfully with my loud Chinese voice.

I spent most of my childhood years collecting strange stamps, drawing on my arm, cutting patterns to make paper snowflakes, and aligning coloured pencils to discover my favourite combinations. My little mind feasted on these fun activities and for the years to follow, I became obsessed with creating subtle, delicate touches in my art, drawings and overall aesthetic vision. In high school was where I befriended Photoshop and just like that, hand in hand, we journeyed to college together.

I graduated from Sydney's University of New South Wales with a degree with Honours in Digital Media. Over the years, I had grown close to a few other good friends called After Effects, Illustrator, Maya and a rather large camera. They did not fail to inspire me and I gradually grew fond of giving life to animation & design works with my unique, playful stories. I believe that big things can be conveyed through the smallest and most intricate details. Something led me to move back to my birth place, Hong Kong, where I began work as a Motion Graphics Designer in yU+co [HK] for projects based in the areas of film & broadcast and advertising.

I am currently nesting in Hong Kong and is available for freelance work if you send me some cyber jacaranda flowers to my e-meow!
