Ahhh suuuuper tired right now haha.
So today was, as many of you already know, the LA AnD Gathering. 3-5:30pm. It ended up lasting longer than that but I also got there a little late...so it evened out.
Annie did a great job organizing it, props to Grace and Terence as well. Ok enough of the stuff you don't care about, onto the pics...
Woke up today super early...like 11:45am aahhh crazy! We took off from our place. DY, Sam, Tommy and I. It was time to depart...for Miranda...

Tommy drove...what a nice guy...
Samoan head...heh.
"Uh who are you??" (nervous smile)

Then we finally found Miranda and we're off to D Miles. home.

The sky looks cool huh?

D's drivin now, order from front left to back right...
D Milles - Samoan Sam
DY - Tommy
Miranda - Just I
We made it to Yardhouse in Hollywood, near staples center around 3:30...oops just a little late. See who you can spot out in this blurry pic below hehe.

Melly...she so nice.
Sommer, my Viet friend haha she's cool, glad I got to meet her.
See how the Samoan has to beat me up to take my food? Damn...
S coo though DY came to my rescue.
Stealin miranda's camera for some awkward pics of myself...I think it's Miranda's cam
Annie, thanks for putting on the event...as a token of my thanks I'll take a pic of you with food in your mouth...Damn she's good trying to sneak a pic of her eating, and she still pops into a pose and makes it look good...
DY Annie and Terence ditched me to go have some Tequilla shots...I wanted one...=( haha not really, but tequilla is one of the few alcoholic drinks I like.
Takin some more shots I think DY got them hooked...
Annie expressed how little she liked my hair at the event and gave me an AnD hat to cover it up. I'm an idiot though and didn't notice the carboard inside so was walkin around the whole event with that edge of carboard still in the hat haha...damn I fail at life heh.
Melly wanted some pics with the peeps...so here we go.

Damn I not even lookin at the camera...
Grace wanted to join in and show off her guns to DY, I think he got intimidated.

This pic just is awesome, Eliver won the last AnD t-Shirt they were giving away.

Dunno why there are a few pics where I'm talkin to people, but I look like I want to hit them instead or something heh...maybe I should work on that.
Annie and I sportin the AnD caps. After spending a couple hours inside, people began to leave, and so did we.

Toyota was givin away free stuff outside, soooo we wanted it.

No idea...givin you all free rain to come up with some captions for those three pics haha. After that Melly told us we should go to Tea Station...yay...
Instead we ended up at Cha for Tea...Melly you lied to me -_- got my hopes up for nothing...*sniff sniff* heh, naw the food wasn't bad though.
I deflated and got super skinny again..wth haha.

Oh yeah free toyota bottle.

D and his swirly straw...oh so manly haha.
Biggest you'll ever see her eyes.

"Hey maaaan. Look."
I caught it here first...for all the scandal pics come to me...^_^
Cha for Tea...ooo makes sense...

Since a lot of people and I have the same pics I figured I'd post the dirty versions...get it..we look dirty...ok fine...-_-

Mine...
D's...
Miranda's...
Peach green tea with boba...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Thai milk tea with boba...ewwwww milk....blehBack home we go..super tired
My spoils of war...er something

(I already had the heart...but just wanted to throw it in heh)
Anyway I have a video of the event...more or less, but it will take me sometime before I finish editing it all together. So until then everyone enjoy your day.. .... ...

Uh dunno what to talk about so here's a few pics...
Poor man pork dish...

Cut pork into small pieces...stir fry until golden...

Uh boil vegies for a minute or so...then drain. Put all the meat back in together...
Add vegies to meat and stir...
Realize you ran out of rice and use pasta instead...place unspectacularly on plate and serve...This was my moms plate...I ate out of a bowl heh.
This was my pork recipe I made up a few years ago. While I was at the store with my dad I randomly told him "Oh I made up this thing where I do this and this" and he bought the meat, and while I was out for the day he ended up preparing it...pretty good for me only briefly telling him the steps. I had to cook it though heh.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHAYA!

The Usual...teriyaki Chicken, rice and salad...
I think Sam took this pic that's why DY looks so scared heh.
Nope it was just the food making him look that way heh.
We take up a lot of space, that's about half our group, the rest of us were in other areas...to my right heh.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STARCRAFTStarcraft is a game created by the wonderful minds at Blizzard Entertainment. They're responsible for the World Of Warcraft game you might have heard about.
Starcraft was the futuristic version of their hit series Warcraft (which had 3 versions before introducing WoW to the world).
Starcraft has only had one game...although Starcraft 2 is coming...someyear heh. In preperation for SC2 I started playing SC1 again...man it's addicting...@_@
Anyway Pics...
If you remember the Movie Starship Troopers, this game seems to me at least to be based on the book Starship Troopers was made from. In the book, there were 3 races fighting in space, Humans, The Bugs, and The skinnies (I think that's what they were called.) In the game it's the Humans, The Zerg, and the Protoss.

The Humans, aka Terrans, The guy on the right is the hero of the game pretty much.

The girl in the black is called a ghost, they're pretty cool. Actually in the first game one of the main human characters, Kerrigan, was a ghost at first.

Za Zerg...or the bugs...they're nasty lil buggers...get it buggers? heh.

And this would be Kerrigan...mentioned above. She was human...got caught by the bugs...infected and turned into the humanoid queen ruler of all the Zerg...I think the main Human hero was in love with her too...so kinda sad I guess.

Protoss...they are like the elves of space heh.

And this is how crazy the game looks...
The original Starcraft 1 Screen heh...ok...Check how far 3D animation has come in the past 10 years... Pretty nuts.

No idea when the games coming though...so oh well...

SUK
So Here's an old pic that I never really got around to putting up...
And this one's from the same shoot. But I decided to see what I would look like with a nose job hehe. Tell me what ya think...
And to all a good night...

owww die! er oww Zie...ooww yie! The Ao Dai...~_~
2009-01-29 4:06AM / 會員可以看
Heh ok...stupid title aside I wanted to write a blog that has absolutely nothing to do with me...kinda.
So at the Tet fest there were tons of little girls wearing Ao Dai's, a few teens and a lot of grandma's wearing them. Funny thing was unless they were part of the show not many if any girls 20-40ish were wearing them. Oh well, must be shy.
Ao Dai is vietnamese dress...similar to Qipao chinese girl's wear...cept better hehe jk just different.
Vs
(Chinese vs Vietnamese...actually they're pretty similar in some ways...)
No reason, just like this artist so threw in his version of korean clothes the Hanbok.Ok onto the real pics...

Traditional White Ao Dai...^_^

I'm always worried for the girl in the pic on the left...the dress is so white and so thin...if she falls in the water...maaaann...=\

The dress is cool...strange...white to show purity...but almost looks see through...so kinda strange at the same time. Girls are supposed to wear it as a school uniform I think too.

Those are the plain basic white ones...but seems like people don't like wearing white ones that much anymore (or at least not many American Viet girls do) so the fashion designers are going nuts coming up with new designs and colors. Supposedly white till you graduate high school, then pastels till marriage then more vibrant colors after marriage...least that's what I read some where. I don't think girls in America follow those rules though, cuz I've seen some girls who I doubt were married wearing super colorful ones heh.

Crazy big hat on that one girl hehe

Yep colors....okNow for more random designs..heh

Whoa too much European/french influence I think on the first one...and the second one is definitely a more modern look at Ao Dai...heh.

The one on the left...pretty different if I just randomly saw it I'd doubt it was an Ao Dai, but found it on a site that sells only Ao Dai's so I guess...

The pink one almost looks like a night gown more than a normal Ao Dai...
And per most cultures I guess girls wear Ao Dai's for their weddings. My fiance'd be wearing one too...if I married a Viet girl.

First one's tight, got a dragon print, looks like an old design I made before. Oh Yeah traditional hat versus wedding Veil...
-----------EDIT-----------
The Old design I made...heh ok looks nothing like the Ao Dai above...minus the dragon print...

Dunno if the red one qualifies as a wedding dress, but looks good to me...heh.

Not sure about that pink one either...but oh well. Veil vs hat again heh. Here's a couple random links. First link is from a Fashion Designer's website, and all the photos are from a well known photographer, he mostly takes pics of girls in Ao Dai's.

And dunno random youtube link I found hehhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5OJWqp2U80
Oh guy's wear Ao Dai's too...

Yuuuup...
see ya,

Why have my blog titles become so weird and random??

Anyway went home for New Years, family didn't do much for various reasons, but I made it out to the 4th Annual Tet Fest in San Diego. I didn't realize it was only going on for the last 4 years...I think I've actually gone to everyone so far then heh. 1st year I went alone for...I don't remember why. 2nd Year I went alone to surprise my friends as they were doing a Wushu demo...they didn't see me though, so I think I just went home afterward heh. I went back the next day though. Last year I'm pretty sure I went with my girlfriend after we spent some time with her family eating lots of good old traditional Viet food...maaaaaannnn I was craving her grandma's food so bad yesterday hehe.
Anyway this year, I couldn't find anyone to go with so I went alone once again heh. This year was weird though, they had a ton of like Carnival stuff...guess for the kids...was cool...but weird heh.

yeah...
They had some cool replicas of some famous places in Vietnam. Supposedly a famous place from North, Central and South Vietnam (I'm Northern by the way heh).

Then there's the stage where they talk about the fest, have the beauty pageant (I missed it, the pageant was on Sat, I went on Sun -_-), singers and dancers. There was this one guy...looked like a total nerd, kinda greasy guy. But damn he could sing good...I applauded him heh.

Then there was her...her outfit was kinda silly...and her singing was ok...>_>...It was funny though she sang like 4 songs I think, and the begining of each song started with her doing the same "Sexy" walk forward to the front of the stage before she'd start singing...oh yeah it was pretty cold too heh. I think at one point she complained about it being cold and how we had heaters and she was up there in her skirt and corset-ish top in the cold hehe....oh well.
Check the guy on the right reaching for the warmth hehe...actually he might be trying to light it...either way funny (I'm a great photog huh? ^_^ muahaha...ack ah oh ok..)
But the main reason people go to the fest...well the young people at least is for this one thing...That's right the FOOD!

Traditional Vietnamese Nachos! wtf? haha...
YES! Traditional Viet Pad Thai and waffles...wtfx2?
Hmm I was trying to candidly take these pics so people wouldn't think I was some kinda weird white kid amazed by Viet people, so I got a lot of bad shots heh...=\
They even had Chamorro food there, pretty crazy.
This section was tight. Three colleges lined up side by side trying to get money from people fighting for attention. UCSan Marcos (university California San Marcos), SDSU (San Diego State University), and UCSD (University California San Diego)...
I couldn't decide which school to support so I went to a different booth instead heh.
This was the first meal for me at the show, Ga Bi Thit Nuong...(I think heh)
When I ordered it the lady was like "How you know this place?"
so I said "Oh...I'm Viet."
She replied with a quick "0_0 You don't look it..."
I took my food and went "-_- Yeah I know, I know..." heheEnded up sitting next to a some white European Guy who's going out with a Vietnamese Girl...They were having random conversations, and then they started talking about the HBO show TrueBlood. So I butted in their conversation to let them know the show won't be back on with new episodes for a while heh....Then...I think I just laughed a bit cuz she was explaining my fish sauce to the guy...anyway random stuff that'll just amuse me when I think back to it heh.
Lets see I wandered around a bit more, planned to stay the whole time, but it got super cold heh so I left kinda early. Yes SUPER COLD, for all you people in your snowy areas you have no idea how cold it gets out here hehe just teasing...(don't kill me heh).
Before I left though this girl made me take a picture with this other girl...so I actually got one picture with me in it from the event...too bad it's blurry, or maybe that's a good thing? heh.

Uh the HUT, yeah the hut is the main focus of this picture...that's right disregard the weird guy and the girl with vegetables...see this pretty hut? heh.
------------And Now For Something Completely Random--------------Practice run from the private script Cooley High.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns6j2dxUCbsFeedback is nice...long as all the bad feedback is about Dy, and all the good feedback is about me haha jk. P.S If you already wrote your comments/feelings/feedback on DY's blog, or on the youtube page then no need to re-write it here I already read it hehe. Thanks ^_^.
sleep time...damn I'm tired today

A poor struggling artist trying to live his own way in a confined business run world.
Hmm about me huh? Well my story isn't for the weak of heart. Actually it probably isn't for anyone, because it's probably really boring. So I'll just go over some aspects.
Born in Manhattan New York. We lived in Queens, Brooklyn and eventually moved over to Jersey before heading out to California where my mom was from. We'd end up moving every couple of years because rent would go up and we couldn't afford to stay where we were.
I started learning martial arts from my father when I was about 4 years old, he's a 3rd degree black belt in Japanese JiuJitsu so he taught me the basics. He got tired of teaching though and sent me to sign up at the local Tae Kwon Do school. Every time we'd move I'd have to sign up at a new school, usually learning a new style as well. I stuck through doing martial arts at least 3-6 days a week up until the day I turned 18. Lots of the time I had wanted to quit, because giving up my days to train and tire myself out while other kids were just home goofing off or hanging out and so on seemed like a waste to me. But after I turned 18 I was off to college where I began teaching a weird TKD/Karate mix to elementary school kids all across the San Jose area up north. Teaching the kids was a lot of fun, one of my favorite jobs ever. Had to go through a lot because parents didn't like a kid teaching their kids, but after a while I'd have the parents asking me to teach them. I did that for a couple years but hadn't really trained myself in 3 or so years, until I joined a WuShu school back down in San Diego. I trained pretty good there for about a year, then got the chance to go to Beijing to train WuShu out there. My first day there though I ended up ripping my Achilles tendon and had to quit training for good pretty much. I fell into a bit of depression thinking my martial arts life was over, Achilles injuries always seemed the worst to me, and Martial Arts had always been a big part of my life. I haven't ever gotten my foot completely fixed, so still hurts like hell everyday, but much less than it used to. I couldn't walk for at least over 6 months, and couldn't walk properly for almost 2 years. The injury happened about 4 years ago, back in 2004. About 6 months ago I started training a lot again and now I'm back on track to where I want to be. Although my skill level has dropped significantly and I'm embarrassed for people to see me, especially people who knew me before my injury and before I was 18 heh.
That's my Martial Arts history, now for my acting one heh.
At around 10-12 I began an acting career. It didn't really get anywhere because I looked "too young" according to all the casting directors I would go see. I got a couple small things, but nothing significant. Then I had to drop my agent, who took advantage of me anyway, and had to start focusing on school. Later when I was about 16-17 I tried to get back into it again with a new passion and drive. I almost got a couple leading roles on tv shows, but this time I was too old heh. Then I had the opportunity to get on some high school drama show, but I was leaving for college then and my parents told me college was more important. So I left. Acting had to go on the back burner for a while. I tried once or twice to get back into it in the later years, but never had the opportunity or had to back out before I could really pursue it. Now I'm driven more than ever and on my way back to the life of acting and trying to get myself recognized. With the help of some friends, learning new acting techniques and getting some tips on where I should start and how I should approach the whole thing. Acting as an adult seems, so far anyway, much different from acting as a child. Exciting and scary it's the path I've chosen and the one I'll be on forever hopefully.
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.
