  • My Own Muay Thai Fight

    It was exciting indeed, I mean, how much can you train in just a few weeks? How ready can you be? Well, I was going to find out…

    The female fighters normally get their hair braided, so I got mine done in a salon down the road from the gym. It took about 30 minutes. I got ready for the fight. Tuk and another trained helped me to wrap up my hands. We then prayed and then Tuk put the… on my head.

    M opponent Diana and I got into the ring and we did our Wai-Khru dance. All the students and the trainers from the Muay Thai gym were watching. We started fighting... I had to constantly remind myself to block my head. I took a few punches! Diana did go easy on me, but hey, this wasn’t choreographed movie fighting, so you don’t know when and where you’re gonna be punched! Adrenaline!!

    Damn, you are talented, beautiful, and now dangerous as well....hehehe.  That is quite an accomplishment to get in the ring and put a few days of training to use.   Congratulations

    I know you're suppose to do the dance before each fight but it's really boring if you have to watch it like 10 to 15 times in one sitting. During my first (and only) muay thai fight, I almost fell asleep during one of the dances.

    It looks like you did well for what training you had and you had fun too.  It's not an easy martial art, but it has a lot of valuable fighting techniques. :)  Happy Valentine's Day!
