CNY Red Packet Give Away

This Lunar New Year, I had a great time resting and of course done a couple
of visiting. By the 3rd day of Lunar New Year I have collected about $520.

I remembered as a kid, all my cousins and I use to compete how many
Red Packets we received and how much in total.
Now that we are all grown up and we don't play such games anymore.
What do I do with all the money?

This year, I gave them all away. It's not a big sum of money but I felt great.

It's a simple task.
I went to a supermarket near my place. Pick up all the provisions.
Pay at the counter of course. Unload the goods from the trolley to the car boot.
Drive down to 80 Buangkok View which takes about 30mins drive.
When you get there just unload the provisions at the reception or kitchen.
That's it, Simple.

All the old folks were so appreciative and you could see from the smile on their
face saying "Thank You Very Much".
I wanted to share some photos but I forgot to take pictures when I was there.

After I left SILRA Home. I realize that I was helping all my relatives and friends
(it's their red packet anyway ) to give and share.
Which make this Chinese New Year even more meaningful.

SILRA Home is located at 80 Buangkok View. When you feel like giving you
can always share with all the old folks there. All you need is to call and ask
what they need before you deliver.

A Kucinta Family Reunion

A Chinese New Year Telemovie : A Kucinta Family Reunion is a drama-comedy about a few people who in their own ways have some affinity with the Kucinta (the bronze statue of a famous Singapura Cat that sits by the foot of the Cavenagh Bridge). Each character’s aspect of love, family, acceptance for one another and the ‘missing’ Kucinta will spin into a funny yet heartwarming story aptly for this Chinese New Year season.

Just a week before Chinese New Year, a little phenomenon occurs…the Kucinta statue disappears and it changes the lives of Kelly, Chris, Wei Xiong, Donna and Ji Woon.

KELLY (Mindee Ong) is the high flying career woman in her late 20s who suffers from a post traumatic amnesia after she met with an accident. While all other memories were erased momentarily, the celebratory mood of the CNY and the reunion seem to stay ingrained in her memory bank. Hence she relives Chinese New Year Eve everyday.

As doting and dedicated a husband can be, Chris (Pierre Png) readily lives with it and re enacts Kelly’s CNY reunion with her every day.

Life takes a strange turn for Kelly after news of the missing Kucinta breaks out. She regains her memory when she is near the spot where Kucinta used to be. With the help of her dedicated husband, Kelly slowly maps out her memory. But, will she be able to fully recover and spare Chris the agony of reliving CNY eve everyday?

Wei Xiong (Brandon Seah) is Kelly’s timid and nerdy older brother stuck in a sales booth selling boat tickets. He fantasizes about meeting the perfect girl to be brought home to ‘mummy’ for a CNY reunion dinner.
One day, Ji Woon, a Korean ballerina appears in Wei Xiong’s life. Wei Xiong picks up a self help book, “Player’s Handbook” and makes plan to woo Ji Woon. At a strange twist of thought Wei Xiong decides to do something that nobody has ever done before, hoping to impress Ji Woon and bring her home for reunion dinner.
How will his boring and dreamy life take a turn for the better (or worse) with the disappearance of the Kucinta?

Donna is a free spirited and carefree graphic designer. Her cat Tabby goes missing the day the Kucinta disappears. Her search for Tabby leads to a chance meeting with a guy completely different in character from her. Will she believe and accept this affinity that’s chance upon her?

Sembonia's Winter/Autumn 2008 Runway

To launch its Autumn/Winter 2008 collection, Sembonia organized a star-studded fashion show on the 12 of October 2008, at Takashimaya Square. Allan Wu and Angela May hosted the event. Some of the FLY Entertainment Celebrities like Rebecca Tan, Stephanie Carrington, Elizabeth Tan and Pamelyn Chee join in the fun down the catwalk runway too.

Being the 1st ambassador of Sembonia it is my honour to make an appearance for this fashion show.

I felt extremely honoured to be selected as the ambassador of Sembonia for the first time in 14 years. Especially since they never had one previously, makes it even more flattering for me.

I was told that Sembonia felt that my image is in line with their target audience which represents fashion-conscious and independent women of today.

My first duty as the Ambassador was to name the Autumn/Winter 2008 collection. It was indeed a challenge as I've never done anything like this before. I came up with a few names but need to decide which name is suitable for the collection.

This name has to suit Sembonia and stands out. And secondly, it has to suit me and Sembonia and still stands out. Though job.....I damaged some brain cell along the way..... nah... It was actually a feat for me.

I hope the new collection will like its new name "Prelude". Prelude was chosen because it marks a new chapter for Sembonia. And I felt that the name connects me and Sembonia. I believe it is important that prelude marks an introduction to a good beginning.

So I hope Prelude will give a good beginning to Sembonia. I am definitely looking forward to more great collaborations.
