I spent Chinese new year in Guangzhou, China with Jae and his family. It was my second visit to Guangzhou and my first proper chinese new year experience! I was excited because Japanese people don't celebrate CNY.
I flew to Guangzhou at night on 1st Feb. The next day was CNY eve. I saw My Melody bunny chinese version on the way to Jae's grand mother's place.

And CNY decoration

We went shopping at street market. There were many peole.
I saw somethng familiar there.

These carps are suposed to be the decoration for Children's day in May in Japan. Not for new year!
These are a bit diffrent design from Japanese one.

But these are just like Japanese one.

At night we had reunion dinner at Jae's grand mother's place.
Yummy yummy food :)
Hello chicken head.

I love this pork.

I brought Sake from Japan.

Abalone was great.

I enjoyed having dinner with Jae's family. His grand mother and aunties are great cook.
Many people were at the same table and eating together. It reminded me of my grand mother's place I used to live.
After dinner we went to night market with full stomach.

Jae's sis Jessica , Jae and me

Leung family :P

The strange things about CNY is .... we can't take a shower on CNY. Cutting hair, nails etc are not good either. They say we will lose luck. Hmmmm
When in Roma, do as the Romans do. So I should do as the Chinese people do. I rushed back to my hotel room and took a quick shower before midnight. Then went back to grand mother's place.
