    Was searching youtube & accidentally came across the following interview ...
    it was posted 2 days after the actor being interviewed passed away from lung cancer (note that during the interview, he has a pipe in his mouth)  ...

    Mr. Whitmore looked familiar, so I checked his film resume at imdb.com ...
    he co-starred with Jim Carrey in a film which I happen to like more than Carrey's comedies,
    "The Majestic" ...

    As a history geek, I also noticed on Mr. Whitmore's film resume that he was also in the famous World War II film, "Tora, Tora, Tora"  (couldn't find a good film clip representing his role as Admiral Halsey) ...
