Never in my dreams as a little child did I ever think I would come to live, work and play in Hong Kong. Born in Canada to Chinese parents, I moved here in 1994 and worked as an architect for 4 years before pursuing my greater interest in photography and art. Having published my second book themed and titled \'The Asian Male\', I\'m set to continue and explore all things that make this Universe as diverse and interesting as it is.

I just got back from a full day in macau meeting up with the event coordinator of Rosh events who is helping me with book launch and signing there. hot and sunny, walking along the narrow streets and seeing the architecture of both old and new was fascinating. i couldn't help but feel that some of the treasures of macau will be torn and destroyed by new development. i really have to go there and explore it more before it really disappears. meanwhile the city is teaming with people coming from china and hong kong in light of the gambling (a very chinese thing...gambing, that is: it's in our blood). although i don't gamble much, i do feel tempted to hit one of the tables and see what happens... but i digress, i find macau's cultural and artistic rooting to be much more intact than that of hong kong; i'ts cultural center is stunning to look at both in the day and at night. the exhibitions and shows by far better than hong kong. what i can see happening is that macau will soon become a destination city, one that offers a full plate of entertainment for all of asia. all of the big name fashion brands are there absorb any gambler's winnings back into macau's pocketbooks...

patrick...you haven't been to macau? you must. it's very different from hk. did you hear? that the city's casino intake is more than Las Vegas? this happened just a few months ago. should come out for the launch and bring friends....

macau is actually culturally rich. i mean, it was a mix of portugese and chinese. imagine the offspring! anyway, it's good for me to get away from hk for awhile. hmmm, i think hk is rather quite rich with culture, but not quite at the league of cities like paris and new york. hk is quite money-oriented.. hk has a long way to go ...which is why it is an exciting time to be here.

Macau sounds interesting...Everyone seems to be commenting on HK's lack of culture.

I am a photographer-artist living and working in Hong Kong. I vary between socially outgoing to hibernating at home with a book. I challenge myself in many areas of life, namely creatively, intellectually, physically and spiritually. I believe that I am ambitious in whatever I do and try to encourage others to do what they are passionate about. My three main areas of artistic interest are people photography, graphite drawing, and finally painting. All three areas weave in and of my life at different times. I self-published a photography book in 2005 called 'The Asian Male - 1.AM' and just released the follow-up volume 2.AM under the same title. Other than this, I dabble in Tarot readings and enjoy quiet nights with my fur-ball cat 'BB'. My weakness are anyone that is stunningly good looking, whether male, female or somewhere in between (these days, it can be hard to tell), bitter chocolate, gelato, and a nice pair of legs.... I like reading non-fiction books mostly, especially ones that really make me think and question myself and life. Although I am generally quite moody by appearance, it's usually because I'm thinking WAY too much for my own good.
