Bionicle, Yellow Frog, Audiotraffic and Chups Chups.

'Today is a good day'. A student intern once said this to me. Smooth, productive and smiles all around that made me think that I'm so lucky and fortunate to be where I am, right here, right now. Living in the moment on the thread of the unknown.

This morning I was asked to photograph these toys called BIONICLE, Transformer-like creatures for a young boy's birthday party. Manipulating and positioning the robotic figures to look menacing and ferocious was a task and challenge. Looking ridiculously silly and cartoon one moment; frightening and deadly the next. Anyway, I am uploading a few for the sake of how the shoot went.






Subsequent to the shoot, I went to ran off to sign my lease to my new studio. As it turns out, the owner of the building happened to be a photo enthusiast and we had much to share on the advantages and disadvantages of digital. He then pulls out his Leica M6. I drool. I have always wanted to buy one, but the price is exorbitantly high. He's loving every moment of it and then proceeds to talk about the joy of black and white photography the old fashioned way.

Later on, I headed over to Tsim Sha Tsui to meet friends Betty and Robert, the team behind Yellow Frog (a recording studio). Betty and I go way back to our years in architecture school and tonight was her birthday party. Rob made introductions to everyone at the table, but I noticed two guys that looked very familiar. To my surprise, they were Adrian and Don from Audiotraffic. Only days ago, has I surfed into their alivenotdead profile and listened to a few of their tracks. The birthday party was a blast, and Betty got Chup Chups from Adrian and Don.
