Just 2 more days to go and it's time to chill out.Well.... at least it WOULD be time to chill out... except I had a call from the lovely people at Men's Health...Every Year they hold this insanity called the URBANATHALONhttp://urbanathlon2013.menshealth.com.sg/Think like a 12-14 KM race... with a good 9 or so OBSTACLES to face... like swimming through a mud pool, carry a 20lb Sand Bag, Monkey Bars etc etcThey're holding it on March 3rd... and muggins here has agreed to face the challenge. It's going to be awesome. Or a living hell.So training has already begun!!! Time to get back into fighting fit shape to face the nightmare.I'll be keeping track of the training here... so stay tuned! -
What a couple of weeks
2012-11-10 7:47PM / 標準BLOG
The last few weeks have been a level of insanity that it's been almost hard to cope. With trips to Thailand, Indonesia and India my feet have barely touched the floor. For those of you that follow my Twitter and FB (@oli_pettigrew and www.facebook.com/theofficialolipettigrew) - then you would have seen the crazy pics.Linda and I were lucky enough to be invited to the Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort in Koh Samui. It was SO beautiful- It was a surprise to be honest. I thought that I knew Thailand pretty well. But Koh Samui is stunning and quiet too. It's not as over developed as Phuket and filled us with a sense of serenity that has been much needed in Casa Del Pettigrew. The last 3 weeks have been full on with work - A stint in Jakarta with AXN for a one off show called 'Voices of Asia' where we got to visit an orphanage for a few days and try and do some good. It was really nice to be on a show where we were trying to help people and improve their lives. The kids were awesome. It kinda hit home with me because my own daughter Tia is from a similar background, and it really makes you think about how many kids are out there who need homes, or just want to be loved.Catch the show when it comes out, the kids were ace. It made me wish I could make a show like that more awesome - in the vein of Challenge Anneka (google it - great show from when I was younger). Maybe I'll get to do it one day.I think it comes from getting older. I start to think what impact I've left on the world. Whether I've done anything to help anyone. Could I be helping more charities? - we shall see where it all ends up.I also just had a great week in India - Fort Cochin to be precise - which was beautiful. The more I visit India, the more I realize I really like it - my Dad was actually born in Delhi. Maybe it's genetic. If you haven't been to Fort Cochin, I highly recommend it. I was over there shooting a pilot ... so I can't tell you much more. But I hope it gets picked up. It was really fun to do.1 more day of work then I'm off on Vacation!Brad (epad co-host and best mate) and I are hitting the US of A for a week of road-trips, fun, food, drinks and Formula 1 as we travel across the States on our way to the Austin Grand Prix in Texas. We've been talking about this for years. We cashed in Airmiles for flights, I used Backick.com.sg to book great hotels in LA and Vegas (for our own Hangover night) and we rented ourselves a sweet little convertible.Shiner Bock here we come. OM NOM NOMI picked up a few new rolls of film for my Sprocket Rocket Lomo camera.Just sent off my first two rolls of film for my LOMOAMIGO blog - so keep an eye out for them - I'll make sure I post a link for it.Sorry this entry is a little light on pics. They're all on my HTC ONE X at the moment -but you can find regular updates on FB, Twitter and Instagramsee you soonOLI -
The crazy times
2012-10-11 8:29PM / 標準BLOG
At some point every year it goes bananasIt's just how it works - you can spend months just clicking your heels.... waiting for work. And then all of a sudden everyone, EVERYONE wants to book you at the same time. You'll go through period where your feet won't touch the ground.... that's where I am now.I'll do what I can to keep you updated... but I can barely keep up myself. What's happening right now is I'm in production for a cool new show for Discovery Kids (I can't tell you the name - yet) Where I get to be a mentor. What's really awesome is I get to shoot with one of my Collective (www.thecollective-asia.com) buddies Mohini Sule - who is so talented it is SCARY.I'm also shooting a one-off special for AXN that is for charity and really... awesome. We're gonna get to do something worthwhile. And it must be my age, but suddenly I'm sitting here wondering whether I've done anything to help the world... and what I can do to do more. It happens to us all eventually I think.I'm not done yet though, I'm also soon off to shoot a pilot for a potential new show, making an appearance on ANOTHER show AND trying to start a new company (more on that soon)I've also had ANOTHER new cover come out (for Home + Living in Singapore), I appear BUTT NAKED in Cosmo Singapore tomorrow, I have a shoot for Esquire SIngapore set up in a few weeks and I just shot the January cover of Men's Folio in Malaysia... keep an eye out for them!It really makes a difference working with positive, talented people. Even the most laborious or intense shoot day becomes such a pleasure. I've been so lucky in my life to be blessed with this in just about every production. It's all about keeping the toxic people out of your orbit. Not just in work, but in life.Surround yourself with the positive people, and you'll fill your life with positivity. You may have known these people for years, but sometimes you just need to cut out the cancer. It's liberating ... trust me.I'll be back in with reports soon... plus a behind the scenes video from a special trip next week. Here's the current Home + Living cover with my gorgeous wife Linda

It was Oli’s decision to have a two week holiday in Singapore which allowed his career to skyrocket to even more exciting levels. Oli’s quick wit and easy demeanor helped him quickly climb the ladder from local photoshoots to magazines, international adverts, commercials, corporate videos, live hosting and finally heading an array of television shows. He is now based in Singapore, and with his personal discipline for hard work, the drive for professional excellence, and dedication to teamwork and creating a quality performance, the sky is the limit for this greatly in demand and popular television host.
His television hosting career started with the UN backed environmental show ECO 4 THE WORLD which then led to him being hired as lead anchor for Starhub’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup 2006 on WORLD CUP PRIMETIME.
His ability at handling the extensive details necessary for that show caught the eye of the AXN/Animax network, who selected him to host CYBERMAX exclusively for the Animax network, a show which covered the World Cyber Games in Singapore. The improvisational, comedic nature of the show appealed to Oli’s natural showmanship and overwhelming desire to make people laugh. This effort led him into the show TECHNOMAX for AXN/Animax, a high paced, funny show in which many would have lost their way under the intensive tech-babble.
The rampant success of TECHNOMAX allowed Oli to return as host for the second season of the primetime show SONY STYLE: Season Two on AXN, a role he had originally been forced to turn down for its first year run. The success of SONY STYLE: Season Two across 20 countries and on the screens of 30 million households has turned Oli into one the region’s leading rising stars. His career has continued as host of FRIDAY PICTURE HOUSE on HBO Signature and LONELY PLANET'S BEST IN ASIA on Channel 5 Singapore and BBC Worldwide.
Oli is currently shooting Sony Style Season 3, as well as a brand new show ePAD on MAX.
Catch the premiere of Sony Style this March 24th, only on AXN - 職業: 電視/電臺節目主持人 , 模特兒
