Hi folks,

I want to invite to you to a special preview of the documentary short "A Chinese Class" that I just finished cutting on-line:

I'd be grateful for your feedback in terms of how fast it loads and how well it streams/works! And any comments!

streams pretty fast for me ~ I didn't even have to wait a second and it loaded fast while I was watching. I thought it was quite interesting ~ I had so much fun when I took chinese class in college too haha...reallie reminded me of that. That really is a diverse class though ~ mine was just full of chinese ABCs lol...and one white guy who was so much better than us >.>

It streamed fine for me... I think I only had to wait a couple minutes. I haven't finished watching it yet but so far I really like it. I can really relate to the experience of the Chinese class as being impt and sort of anxiety-producing, as it's always been the place where you tried to reconnect with roots and were afraid of not knowing enough. I felt that esp. from the Mex-Hawaiian girl so far. Subjects are interesting.

Amazing. Okay first: it loads fine for me, no problem, could start watching after a pair of mins.

Apart from that, the documentary sounds so great to me, as a learner of chinese myself, I feel so identified with some aspects. I have been learning chinese for many years...actually probably 6 or 7 years since I started, took 3 years in school and quit due to the uselessness of the last 2 years. After that I had to find my way to learn chinese, and now I dun find a school that teaches anything above intermediate..
Apart from that, the documentary is great, I'll pass it over to one of my university teachers, she is doing some research about chinese in the US.

李孟熙是洛杉磯、溫哥華和香港的制片人、編劇和導演。他在香港長大，十幾歲移民到蒙特利爾，在UC伯克萊大學拿到英文碩士學位。當他拿著自己拍攝的短片《Flow》在電影節巡展上尋找伯樂的同時，還在攻讀耶魯大學的英文文學碩士以及加州大學洛杉磯分校的導演藝術碩士學位。

他的首部電影《Shopping for Fangs》在1997年多倫多國際電影節首映，在美國雖在有限範圍內發行，同樣贏得了嚴苛影評界的贊揚。《Shopping for Fangs》由Margin電影公司出品， Quentin負責編劇、跟Justin Lin合作導演、制作以及發行。這部電影的成功為Quentin與Justin Lin合作的第二部電影《Better Luck Tomorrow》鋪平了道路，在2002年聖丹斯國際電影節上大放異彩。

Fangs之後，Quentin回歸到更私人的領域，他制作、編劇和導演了在同誌電影節巡展上大熱的電影《Drift》，並賣給了Wellspring Media。這部電影在洛杉磯公映時佳評如潮。

《Ethan Mao》是Quentin編劇、執導的第三部電影，於2003年在AFI電影節上首映，在都靈國際同誌電影節上獲得了觀眾大獎，並銷往世界各地。

《0506HK》是Quentin的首部紀錄片，記錄了他對香港的眷戀之情。其中有采訪香港文化的標誌人物甘國亮、電影導演陳可辛和陳德森，紀錄片導演張虹以及動畫導演許誠毅等人的片段。這部紀錄片將作為溫哥華國際電影節"香港故事"單元的重要部分进行公映。

李孟熙現在正忙著幾部片子，有《The People I've Slept With》、《Chink》和一部紀錄短片《Chinese Class》。
