Sweet Home Chicago - Freezing and Warm all at the same time...
我が故郷シカゴ—凍える程寒いけど暖ったかい

Hope everyone is enjoying their Lunar New Year!
I spent my first Lunar New Year back home in Chicago with my family in the last eight years!
Besides a crazy blizzard that had my father and I spending four hours on the road trying to get home from our martial arts academy in the city (which normally would take only a 40 minute drive), and the Chinese New Year celebrations, it was a very relaxing trip away from the bustle of Hong Kong.
I spent most of my vacation time at my family’s martial arts academy and at home chatting with the folks.
During the New Year I got a chance to help out our school’s lion-dancing team as they marched in the Chinese New Year parade and did the rounds down Chinatown.

皆、旧暦新年を楽しんでるよね？
僕は８年ぶりの家族と一緒の旧暦正月をシカゴで過ごしてるんだ！
市内の武術教室から家まで帰るのに（普段はたった40分のドライブなのに）4時間もかかったとんでもない吹雪のことと、新年のお祝いを除けば、香港の喧噪から逃れてリラックス出来たよ。
休暇のほとんどの時間を、僕は、我が家の武術教室と、家での仲間とのおしゃべりに費やした。
正月には、武術教室の獅子舞チームが旧正月のパレードに参加して中華街を練り歩くのを手伝う事が出来たよ。

Not more than 20 hours after I land back in Hong Kong, I was on a plane again headed towards Shanghai for a two day shoot.
香港に帰って来て20時間もしないうちに、僕は上海での２日間の撮影の為に再び機上の人となった。

ええっと、写真とビデオ、またまたどっさりUPしてくれちゃってるので、後ほど…　とりあえず、文章の和訳。

ところで、章のタイトル、「Dancing with Lions／ダンス・ウィズ・ライオンズ」はケビン・コスナー(Kevin Costner)主演の映画「Dances with Wolves／ダンス・ウィズ・ウルブズ」のもじり、「There and Back Again／ゆきてかえりし物語」はそのまんまトールキン(J. R. R. Tolkien)の「The Hobbit, or There and Back Again／ホビット、ゆきてかえりし物語（ホビットの冒険）」からとったものだと思うんだけど、「Sweet Home Chicago」「BLIZZARDS are No Joke...」、何か出典があるんだろうか…？BLIZZARDっつうとWoWしか思い出せないんだけど…

HKの人たちって読む側よ。読む側にさ、これ、まじで吹雪なんだよ、って言ってるんじゃないかと思ったんだ。この辺り、まじでダイヤモンドダスト見えるし。

ネットゲームは知らんな。フィルってゲーマー？なんかイメージに合わないなあ。

いや、ほら、香港生まれ香港育ちなら吹雪も珍しいだろうけど、Philてば幼い頃にシカゴに移住して大学院出るまでシカゴなんだよね、だからそんなに珍しくもないだろうに、とか思っちゃって。あと大文字なのも気になってさ。まあ、ゲームヲタの間じゃ、BLIZZARDって言やあ有名なネットゲームメーカーなんだけどね…
ま、今回はこの辺で切り上げて翻訳スレに投稿しときます〜

違いそうだ。
Blizzardsは普通に「吹雪」じゃね？ほら、HKの人たち雪を見慣れてないからさ。

Sweet Home Chicago ですぐにこの曲が浮かんだんやけど、Philがこんな古い曲を知ってるかなぁと思いつつ・・・有名な曲やけど。
"Sweet Home Alabama"(Lynyrd Skynyrd ﾚｰﾅｰﾄﾞ・ｽｷﾅｰﾄﾞ)
