Asia Trip 2009 - It's Official
2009-02-22 1:14PM / 標準BLOG
I'm so excited. My trip to Phuket and Hong Kong is finally official. I booked my flights and my hotel in Phuket (but I'm still deciding where I want to say when I'm in HK). The only thing that sucks right now is having to wait until May. Honestly, I would prefer to take the trip sometime in March because it won't be as hot and humid. I'm trying to not think about the fact that I'll be sweating non-stop throughout the entire trip. Hmm...maybe I'll sweat a few pounds off?
I guess the only thing good about going in May is that I'll be able to save up more money so that I won't be broke from all the shopping and eating while I'm there. Now how am I suppose to fit 12 days of clothes and shoes into one suitcase? Would I have room for all the stuff I'm going to buy on my way back?
Am I thinking about this too early in advance? Probably, but whatevers. I'm excited.

Just wanted to share something that was forwarded to me today at work.
INSTALLING A HUSBAND
Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.
In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 andGolf Clubs 4.1.
Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, an Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system.
Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.
What can I do?
Signed,
Desperate
DEAR DESPERATE,
First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system.
Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.HTML and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update.
If that application works as designed, Husband1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.
However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.
Please note that Beer 6. 1 is a very bad program that will download the Farting and Snoring Loudly Beta.
Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources.)
In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.
In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend:
Cooking 3.0 and
Hot Lingerie 7.7.
Good Luck Babe!

USA Rugby Sevens
2009-02-17 12:03PM / 標準BLOG
I watched my first rugby game in Hong Kong and it was the Sevens. One day during one of my Chinese classes the teacher asked us if we were interested in going to a rugby game. She said it was one of the big events in HK and we would be missing out if we didn't go. So I thought...what the hell right? I mean I'm up for new experiences. I didn't know what rugby was at the time, but I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to figure out right? So on the day of the game, my friends and I headed out to the HK stadium in Happy Valley (?). I only knew which MTR station to get off from but I didn't know exactly where the stadium was. Eventually, I found some Scandinavian dude with a rugby jersey on and asked him for directions. He was really nice and said we can walk with him since he was heading that way too. He tried to explain the game to us but I think he eventually gave up. I was only half listening but in the end I did catch the part about the players being hot. He was so right. I fell in love with #1 from Argentina but didn't have a clue about how the game was played. There were just too many distractions. Yesterday, I watched Sevens in San Diego and it was awesome. #1 from Argentina was nowhere in sight, but #2 was kinda hot. I decided that I really like the team from Wales, because they were hot too. After watching numerous games between the different teams for almost eight hours, I now like rugby because it's crazy exciting. So instead of liking rugby 100% for the hot players, now it's really 80% for the sport itself and 20% for the hot rugby players. I was really surprised by the number of people that showed up for the game. I didn't think it was too popular of a sport in America, but I guess I was wrong. I saw of bunch of kids that were party of rugby teams at their high school or college. It was crazy. I can't wait to watch the game next year.
Argentina is the team in light blue. It's such a great color.
The players from Wales were hot. They all have such great arms. Unfortunately, I don't think they're very good. They lost to Australia.
Little rugby players. So cute.
I saw the snowcones and I was like...I want one, but it's so damn cold already.
These two annoying kids just kept jumping up and down in front of me. They kept running up and down the stairs when the players walked by. The funny thing is they would keep count of how many of them actually shook their hands. I almost laughed out loud when Kenya almost completely ignored them.

Confessions of a Shopaholic
2009-02-17 7:59AM / 標準BLOG
On Saturday, I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic with a friend of mine, who like me, is a fan of the Shopaholics books by Sophie Kinsella. When I first watched the previews, I didn't think the movie was going to be very good. The actress playing the main character, Rebecca Bloomwood, was a red head and I was sure the book described Becky to be either a blond or brunette. The movie takes place in New York city, but the book takes place in London. In the movie, Becky works for Brandon, but that wasn't so in the book. To my surprise the movie was quite funny. I actually liked it a lot. When my friend told me that the movie combined the first and second books than I was like...oh...that kinda makes sense now. I think for someone that never read the book, the movie would be quite enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
I also highly recommend reading Sophie Kinsella's books. They're great. Very witty and funny. -
Movies
2009-02-09 3:49AM / 標準BLOG
This weekend I watched two movies.
He's Just Not That Into You
I didn't like the book. In fact I only read the first five pages (or was it two?) and then tossed it aside. When I saw the preview for the movie, I thought it would be interesting especially since Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Scarlett Johanssen, Drew Barrymore were all in the movie. After watching it on Friday, I thought...I should've waited for the DVD. The movie had it's funny moments, but overall it was just kinda...okay.
Push
I had pretty high expectations for Push after seeing the previews. Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning were both in the movie and I love them both. The movie takes place in HK (my favorite metropolitan city in the whole world) and I had a hell of a time trying to figure out which part of HK different shots were filmed at. The movie is about these people that have supernatural powers, placing images in other people's minds, mentally moving objects, seeing the future, etc. The US government had developed this medicine to inject into these people to enhance their powers, but everyone that they had tested the medicine on had died, except for this one girl. This girl steals one of the bottle of medicine and eventually ends up in HK and just so happened to have dated Chris Evans before she was taken in for the experiment. Dakota Fanning finds Chris Evans and they work together to try to save the girl and to get also get a hold of the medicine. Fanning's characters needs the medicine to save her mother who is held captive by the US government. Overall, I enjoyed the movie but somewhere in the middle I just couldn't help asking...where is this story going and why does it feel like this movie is so long? Little Dakota Fanning was awesome. I really wish she would stop growing up. She is so cute. Ooh there were a lot of HK actors in the movie too.

I'm the friend that tells you that you look like sh*t at the end of a long day at work (and then I help you fix your hair). I can be pretty intimidating, but everyone around me knows that I'm one of the nicest people they'll ever meet. I can talk to anyone, anywhere, on just about anything that comes to my mind at the moment. I'm a Cancer so I can get along with practically anyone. At this moment in life, I can say that the smartest decision I ever made was to study abroad in Hong Kong, where all I did was shop, eat, party, and travel for a year (but don't tell my parents that). I'm super addicted to girly books (I love Sophie Kinsella) and was recently tricked into reading my first romance novel(it's like porn on books). I truly believe that I am destined to be a photographer, food critic, or an event planner, but somehow landed in banking and finance. I'm an impulsive shopper (last year I bought a PSP and now it's just sitting on my book shelf). I have a passion for food and I love trying new restaurants. I once told a friend "if we weren't working together we would never be friends because you can't eat garlic." My friends appreciate food. For some odd reason (I still haven't figured out what) I have the shortest attention span when it comes to the guys I date. I can be staring at my cell phone when it rings, but I'll never pick it up. I'm addicted to buying Chinese DVDs. I'm allergic to lychee, but I eat it anyways. I can't stand pretentious people, I rather respect you for your b*tchy a**hole selves. I learned how to read and speak Mandarin by watching tv. I once told a Congressmen to get off my seat at a conference in capitol hill. I'm not on facebook.
That's all. I think.
