A storm is brewing

...both outside the window, and in America, I see.
I haven't taken a good look, but I've been told it's hailing outside. I can see the lightning and hear the thunder though. But this is Wellington, so meh.
I read in one of the forums that there's a ban on gay marriages. Didn't they just allow it? What exactly has happened to ban it again? I hate research, can someone fill me in on the exact details?
Whenever talk about gay marriages are in the air, the same thing always pops up, there's always a group of petitioners out there.
I once got asked what I thought about gay marriages. I said I don't have a problem with it. He then said that what he meant was what does my church say about it. I told him that my church has never mentioned it. I think he was expecting me to tell him my church was either against it or totally supported it. He didn't have anything to say once I said my church has never talked about it.
What do people think about the protesters out there?
I've always held my tongue over it, because honestly speaking, I don't know the exact thoughts of the Lord on this issue. I'm not very good at Bible study, so I'm not well-versed. But there is one thing I do know.
God's love is unconditional.
That has been drummed into me since the day I was born (okay, maybe only since I was in primary school, but I tend to exaggerate). And it's something I think these people forget. Okay, fine, maybe God's totally against it and I just haven't been provided the verse which quotes this. But shouldn't your focus be on bringing more people to the Lord? All you're doing is making these people think that God hates them. You can say that "no, we were not saying He hates you, we were saying He hates homosexuality", but the problem is, you're portraying it as such. At least, that's how I see it.
I once asked one of my teachers why the Bible said to never be angry at
people, when Jesus was angry when a market was set up in one of the
temples, and was told that Jesus wasn't angry at the people, he was
angry at the situation. I don't know if the Lord is angry with homosexuality or not, but he loves those children all the same.
If anyone out there is homosexual, just remember that. God still loves you. I don't know how you'd deal with your homosexuality if you became a Christian. I heard one girl just decided she was going to be single for the rest of her life. Which is okay, cos she'll get to be a bride when she goes to heaven.
I'm not actually surrounded by such protesters. I've just seen them on television. So I could only be seeing half of the story. And I'll be the first to admit I'm totally ignorant on this issue. I turn away whenever it comes up on the tele. I don't even know why I'm mentioning it now. And I'm the type of person who stays ignorant on an issue until I ask someone about it. Or until someone forces me to listen to their great wisdom on an issue.
The storm outside the window is over. Is this one?
Be nice, please. I'm rather fragile.
