    There's an iconic sculpture next to City Hall in Philadelphia referred to as The Clothespin.  45 feet tall in a city scape with no relational cues.  I'm more used to it than like it.  

    I love this one.  It gives a clue as to function and elicits something I like---the hanging of clothes out in the sun and in the breeze.  The fresh smell it gives to linens is a gift from the gods.  

    In fact, in Florence I bought a ceramic piece done by by Elizabeth .... can't remember her last name .... she uses a lot of brushed bird motifs but she also does washing hanging on a line outside of Tuscan houses.  It's the only thing I bought which to this day makes me smile.
