STANDBY SIGNAL NO. 1

Tropical Cyclone Bulletin

Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Bulletin issued by the
Hong Kong Observatory.

The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force.

This means that a tropical cyclone now centred within about
800 kilometres of Hong Kong may affect us.

At 5 p.m., Typhoon Nuri was estimated to be about 340
kilometres southeast of Hong Kong (near 20.5 degrees north
116.8 degrees east) and is forecast to move west-northwest
at about 14 kilometres per hour in the general direction of
coastal Guangdong.

Nuri is moving closer to Hong Kong steadily.  Winds will
strengthen overnight.  The Observatory will consider
issuing the Strong Wind Signal No. 3 in the evening.

According to the present forecast track, Nuri will be
rather close to Hong Kong tomorrow.  Local winds will
further strengthen and there will be squalls and heavy
rain. The public should pay close attention to information
on the typhoon issued by the Observatory.

表 示 有 一 熱 帶 氣 旋 ， 約 在 香 港 800 公 里 內 ， 可 能 影
響 本 港 。

在 下 午 5 時 ， 颱 風 鸚 鵡 集 結 在 香 港 之 東 南 約 340 公
里 ， 即 在 北 緯 20.5 度 ， 東 經 116.8 度 附 近 ， 預 料 向
西 北 偏 西 移 動 ， 時 速 約 14 公 里 ， 大 致 趨 向 廣 東 沿 岸
。

鸚 鵡 正 穩 定 靠 近 本 港 。 今 晚 晚 間 本 港 風 勢 會 逐 漸 增
強 ， 天 文 台 會 在 傍 晚 考 慮 發 出 三 號 強 風 信 號 。

按 照 現 時 預 測 路 徑 ， 鸚 鵡 會 於 明 日 相 當 接 近 香 港 ，
本 港 風 勢 將 進 一 步 增 強 及 有 狂 風 大 雨 ， 市 民 應 密 切
留 意 天 文 台 發 出 的 風 暴 消 息 。
