• Arguing about the things i know i'm right about.

  So.. someone said "Chinese is not a language" on one of youtube video comments space. And I replied.. and now it's become an argument, and hey, I'm winning! Hah!! I can feel all those sarcastic notes on my language these days.. maybe my monthly thing has arrived.. hahahhahaha... :P OR.. maybe i'm just RIGHT. So since I'm getting tired of this guy's pointless points.. I'm going to stop arguing with him. Unless if there's anything more special he says.. if not, then he can write whatever he wants.. meh.. I'm not going to waste time trying to 'teach' him chinese..

  And not to be an ass to you .. but Chinese is not a language .. theres no definitive word in the "Chinese language". Please tell me how you say "Hello, how are you?" in Chinese .. cant do it, cos the language Chinese does not exist. Although I do agree that Mandarin and Canto are dialects .. but that was stating the obvious.

  "the language Chinese does not exist" -> that's like saying the language English doesn't exist.. so you have Scottish, Irish, and no English..

  Now thats just not true, the Irish and Scottish admit they speak the english language, they just have a different accent. Sure if Mandarin and Canto had the same words but different accents I'd let that comment slide, however, they dont.

  no problem, but do you know any indonesian? because then there's the same problem. You've got the indonesian language, and then you've got the hundreds of different dialects. Even in Jakarta, we speak indonesian differently than other cities. Are you saying now that the indonesian language doesn't exist?

  I don't know any Indo languages so I couldn't say. I do know Canto, Mandarin, Chiu Chow and Hakien though and generally they all use different words as well as different accents, hence the reason I say theres no language called Chinese. If Indo languages are the same where every word is different, then yes, I'm saying the language Indonesian doesn't exist.

  Hmmmm i speak fujian, cantonese, and putonghua.. and yes admittedly the grammar is slightly different, and the pronunciation is definitely different, but they stem from the same language, and most likely will use the same words. Let me ask you, how would you say "Toilet" in chinese? It may sound different in those different accents, but it's definitely the same 2 characters in all 3 dialects.

  They're the same WORDS, but pronounced differently.
  
  Toilet = 廁所
  (Ce Suo in Mandarin/Putonghua, Chee So in Cantonese, Che So in Fujian)
  
  Remind me what your point was? Coz I'm sticking to my argument:

  Very brilliant sir, you found out how to use the alphabet. Something that isn't exactly a language.. notice how you can spell french words with the english alphabet.

  It's not a miss. And yes, thanks for helping me prove my point. It doesn't have to exactly be a language in order for it to have an alphabet. The point you poorly failed to see was that languages of all sorts must at some point use an alphabet. That alphabet does not mean its a language. They are simply symbols used to mark how a word will sound in whatever language you are speaking in. Now that should be pretty clear for a simpleton like you to understand. Try again, and don't choke.

  It's a Miss, as in I'm a female, and should not be addressed to with "Sir". And I didn't write alphabets. You shouldn't use your western language knowledge to define the chinese language. Unlike Japanese or korean, chinese words consists of characters which by itself can be a word. The korean language evolved from chinese, but the modern written language uses, as you will, 'alphabets' to define how that word is going to be read.

  Oh, just a last point, since i'm not gonna come back here again. There is no such thing as chinese "alphabet". Guess what, not all languages use the "alphabet" system.
