Sorry it's been a while since my last entry.. Been doing quite some stuff these two weeks, so I'll just update with what I remember I did..
On June 1, I went to Yau Tong to volunteer in bringing some 'Bakcang' -> hokkian of.. er.. rice dumplings for the Tuen Ng festival. Brought them to the old people living in Yau Tong. We'd offer them one dumpling each, and in some cases, we went into their houses and had a chat with them. There were sad grannies, old couples, talkative wife with quiet husband, etc etc. Our last stop was at this popo's place.. when we went in.. a mahjong table was set. They were waiting for 'legs' to play mahjong! They were a bunch of happy old people, and so we ended our trip happy too. :)
My mum is here, btw :D It was my biu-gor's wedding on last Saturday. They were christians, so they had the wedding in a church. The banquet was small and simple, consisting of about 8-10 tables. Small in comparison with weddings I went before, and so relatively more romantic. I guess they wanted a quiet wedding for close relatives and friends only.
Well, at this point in time I knew that I wanted a big and noisy wedding. Kids running around, seniors chatting about their past times, and parents and cousins catching up with each other. My wedding doesn't have to be all about me and my spouse (of course, we would be the big theme) but it'll also be about a big family coming together in one big party :)
Anyway, at this wedding, I also got to know new cousins!! No, no, not newborn babies, cousins my age who live in Singapore!
Then on Monday (a holiday for Tuen Ng festival), I was going to Shenzhen with my mum to visit my old uncle who's not well. But at Lo Wu after I passed HK's immigration, I couldn't get my visa!! A man with a Malaysian passport next to me also, as well as 2 Brits (or Ozzies). We all then went back to HK side, and my mum went on by herself.. So then I went to Tung Chung (again.. I went there the day before with my spore cousins and aunties) and find Sophia.
I got a bouquet of pink roses and a pot of pink flowers from my ex-hallmates for my bday gift haha :D
Btw, up there is a new song by David Cook (the winner of American Idol) "Always be my baby", originally by Mariah Carey. I like his version better, rock and romantic. :) Lyrics here.
