I just had a very funny conversation with someone on the phone.. Well, the conversation itself was not funny, but right after I hung up, I suddenly laughed.
Here's the thing: I received a phone call from someone working at IFVA (Independent Short Film and Video Awards). The guy wants to meet up with me and see if I'd appear in a producer introduction before they show my short among other shorts in... somewhere.. I'm not sure where.. Anyway at the end of the conversation I asked him again what his name was..
"Sorry, I didn't get your name?" "I am Number 6. It's a nickname from my chinese name." "Oh, okay. Byebye"
Number 6...? @_@
HAHAHAHH!
I mean.. I know some people have numbers in their nicknames.. like Ah-1 (Ah-Yat happens to be the name of the character on one of TVB's series played by a gwai-lo..), Ah-3 (Ray is one such Ah-Sum), Ah-4 (Ah-Sei).. and normally if you have a 6, it'll be Ah 6 (Ah-Luuk)
But he didn't say "Call me Ah-6", instead he said "I am Number 6 (Luuk Hoou)"
He sounded like he was competing in Mr. Hong Kong Contest.
Okay, I shouldn't be laughing at people's names.. at least I didn't laugh it the way my English teacher used to..
Once I was in her office, and she was looking at assignments from year 10. One of the names read "Dimple". Living in Hong Kong long enough, you'd probably guess it comes from his/her nickname because he/she probably has nice dimples that appears when he/she smiles/laughs.
My teacher went "Dimple? Dimple? What kind of name is that? *sinister laugh*"
Ok, I'm exaggerating.. i hope she's not reading my xanga.. I hope Number 6 doesn't either ^^'
Anyway, here's a cute fat cat in a cute very well made video.
And another one from the same people.. out of the other not so good ones.. this one is really really nice! Great CGs.. looks like an ad..
if you didn't get that, look at the title again.. he's having a hangover..
