working in a large-scale animation studio/company:
1. Your company will have its own screening room. We did have one small room, but now.. a room in the ground floor of our building was bought (or rented.. i don't know) and is turned into a screening room with around 30 seats. Not much, but still. We had our first try yesterday :D
2. Your company will pay for the ticket, pop-corns, and soft drinks for animation movies playing in the cinemas. I'm talking about Kungfu Panda! We're seeing it in Taikoo Shing for free next Weds. Yay to free films!! WOOHOO!
3. Your company will book a large scale theatre that can seat its 400 employees together in a room when the director of a movie arrives in your town. Our director David Bowie is coming to Hong Kong, and we'll all go to Cyberport to hear him speak.
It was typhoon no. 8 last night through early morning, and it dropped to typhoon no.3 just before noon - which means we had to go to work in the afternoon. When I arrived, Ken's window was broken! Yeah, into pieces! Only the frame is left, with some broken glasses still stuck to the edges.. The window couldn't be shut completely before and the wind must've blown so hard it smashed the window to the frame a couple of times before it finally broke. Luckily no one was in the office, and on the street at the time, I hope.
Anyway, since my team has finished our first Aboy sequence, we are now on our downtime again before we get our next sequence.. And today was a half day work.. and there was a farewell party for our producer Carson. Basically.. I woke up at 10.30am *so comfy to sleep during storm*, ate my breakfast, find that it's turned to typhoon 3, ate my lunch, went to work, ate some biscuits (Ting gave them to me) with yoghurt (bought it last week and almost forgot it completely, luckily it hasn't expired yet), then Tung brought lots of oranges so I ate them too.. then I was bored so I ate a fish sausage, and before I could finish it Tom opened Garden's chocolate fingers and gave me 6 of them (I ate 4)! And then the farewell party, where I ate 3 slices of club sandwich, and 1 slice of tiramisu cake.. thinking that it would be my dinner... then we went to play squash in Sai Wan Ho, and then we had fried dumplings (Wo Tie) and salted soya bean milk with "Yau Char Gwai". That was the first time I ever had a salty soymilk with Yau Char Gwai in it.. quite yummy actually, only $8.
Phew!! YES, ALL FOOD!!!! grrr... but they are all so tasty!!!! Especially that wo tie shop in Sai Wan Ho.. it's got really really really tasty food like Tan-tan noodles (ate it last week, $13).. freshly fried wo tie ($2 each), freshly fried pork chop (not a fan though.. too fiery for me..) and with really cheap price...! I don't know the name of the shop but it's across the street from Sai Wan Ho Cultural centre.. highly recommended!
BTW, I'm SOOOOO excited about WALL*E, the new Pixar movie... I've become a fan in their facebook page.. and there you can see so many Wall-e videos.. featurettes and vignettes.. Wall-e is just sooo cute! A simple robot design with amazing animation to show his personality! It's just damn cool.
