and I've traveled back, through space, back to Jakarta, Indonesia!
Yeap. Wednesday night was our department's christmas party.. It was good, we were divided into 4 teams: White, Black, Blue and Red. Mine was red. The Whites did a 'Holy' style, singing "I will follow him" wearing white cloth in Greek style, with green decorations on their heads (like the Olympic winners in Athens). The Blacks did the 'cool' style: they wore all black, black caps, black shoes, black clothes. And then they just stand there, cross their arms, and spread the cool aura. The Blues did the Axe dance from Stephen Chow's Kungfu Hustle (remember the Axe gang suddenly dancing?).
We.. we're red, so we did the Santa show! We have red t-shirts, and red elf hats that stands high and sharp. Then we have Chris wearing a full gear Santa claus costume. And we have Ken who wears fake chest muscles, inside a torn up red t-shirt, pulling a 'car' made of 4 chairs full of 6 people! Well, he got help by the other teammates who pretend to do nothing but are actually pushing the 'car'. Then, we have 2 people do the sommersault, and then 9 people who did the pyramid (2 people has 1 person on top of them). After which, we told them our team name and slogan: 分花紅which has the 紅 (red) and means Year-end bonus! Hahahaha...
Afterwards we had games.. one is watching a series of videos and answering questions after watching the vids. The funny videos include a mockumentary about Kai, a colleague of mine, pretending to talk about life and success and etc... then there was the ads!! Hahaha.. they are the Gatsby hair wax ad (originally by Takura Kimuya), Yakult (the Judy and Suzuki one.. I play Judy), Tak Shing domestic helper agency (I am the domestic helper from Indo), and the PrimeCredit (AnSon brothers one). Extremely entertaining to watch the characters played by my colleagues!! I hope they get it on youtube!!
So in the end, we won $1550 from the games, $1000 Broadway coupon for winning the video questions, and extra $1000 for being third place!
Then on Thursday it was back to work.. but mostly talking about Weds' party, watching the ads all over again, commenting on how funny they were, and preparing for Friday's party!!
Yep, yesterday it was our company's Christmas party at the Holiday Inn.
Before we go, I distributed xmas cards to everyone (60people) in my department! Everyone seems to be happy to receive them, some even said it was the first xmas card they ever received since they graduated highschool! So, good impression I've made :)
At the Holiday Inn, we had buffet.. and small games like Bingo etc. Ken went up to play some games and when the MC asked him what his name was, he told him his nickname BigDick.. hahahaha.. don't ask me why his nickname is that.. I went O_o when he told me the first time too... and that's exactly what happened "What? Big Big? No? Big.. Big Dick????? ....... Uhhh... So tell me, why this name?"
Haha.. then just as they start the lucky draw on 100+ different prizes, I had to leave for the airport! And it was good, going to the airport without my baggage at all (I checked in at the Airport Express the night before). I wish every trip was like that. It was just like me getting on a bus to go somewhere, no luggages, just my hand-carry bag...
And with 100+ prizes for 400 people, you'd think it'll be quite a chance to win something.. but I confirmed with Ray this morning that I didn't win anything. Well.. it runs in the family.. none of us have won anything in any kind of lucky draws before... We just don't have that sort of luck. So, at least I didn't feel too bad for leaving the party early :)
