'Lust, Caution' set to Break Mainland Box Office Records

Ang Lee's 'Lust Caution' has already broken box office records in Taiwan and Hong Kong (see 10/16/07 article),  and it looks likely to do the same in China following its late opening in theaters in the Mainland last week.

The film took in 40 million yuan (~US$5+million) in its opening week and experts predict the total gross could reach 100 million yuan (~US$13 million),  making it the highest grossing Chinese film of the year.  Although strong competitors 'The Assembly' and 'Warlords' are still scheduled to open in the final weeks of 2007.
