But despite droughts, flash floods, and a few quitting lead actors - the epic seems to be on schedule to wrap by November according to Producer Terence Chang.
The other issue is the length. The screen play is enough for four hours of movie. Currently the plan is to release 'Red Cliff' in two parts in Asian countries, but release a compressed 2.5 hour version for Europe and America. Thus far rights have been sold in most European markets but not yet in America.
The film boasts an international cast that reflects its international funding: China Film Group, Taiwan's CMC Entertainment, Japan's Avex Group and South Korea's Showbox. The first part will hit theaters in Asia around July 2008, one month before the Olympic Games in Beijing.
