A few nights ago I had a horrible dream~nightmare!! There is an old myth about "Bei Gwai Jak" Which literally means "Being Covered by a Ghost" So the feeling is like having someone or something on top of you so that you cannot move or even speak in my situation. I've had this happen to me before, usually happens when I am really tired. I used to think it was really a ghost on top of me but now I know it is just my mind playing tricks on my.

This time the dream was so bad because instead of lying straight and not being able to move on my bed~ I was crunched up in a ball with my knees touching my chin!!! I glanced over and saw Mr LC sleeping soundly and I tried so hard to yell his name to help me but I couldn't make a peep! Then I tried with all my strength to roll over towards him to push him in order to wake him up ~but I couldn't even move an inch! It felt like an eternity being in that aweful position, and I even felt the pain of my neck aching.

Somehow I woke up and I was able to relax my muscles...I shook Mr LC and woke him up to tell him my crazy nightmare and he just shrugged and fell back asleep!! Grrrrrrr!!!

this used to happen to my ex fairly often and it would upset her. I would wake up and hear her whimpering next to me and I would try to wake her because it was obvious she was having a bad dream. When she'd finally come about she'd insist she was awake but couldn't move but since I was the one waking her I knew she was sleeping.

i used to have similiar experiences too. i am able to see the whole room, but unable to move or shout out anything. kinda out of body experience.
went to doc, and she said your body is shutting down but your mind is overworked .. hence such experiences

hmm, i guess it might explain for this particular experiences ..

Soo you guys think its really a ghost??!!
I am convinced it is a dream or what Peachey said Sleep Paralysis!
I do believe in ghosts but I try not to think about them...
another friend said she had a ghost hold down her legs and arms and she was sprawled out like a star when she woke up!
very creeepy!!!

wooooo.....This happens alot, I guess u are a lucky one
scarier story I have is...while all my friends were visiting a friend's house. A babysitter hung herself in a bathroom of this house and everybody had been seeing her around (and they didnt even know that she was dead at the time)..when the owner of the house discovered the babysitter dead in a bathroom...now thats freaky....

it happened to me ONCE.. at a friends house.. I was tired.. so I went to sleep in her room........ while everybody was outside playing........ i was the one inside the room FREAKED out..!!.. i couldn't move nor scream for a few seconds or minutes.... then after a while.. I was ok.. and then i Ran out..

This has never happend to me but it did to my sister... She was pretty freaked out... she actually felt someone tapping her neck but could not turn to see who it one.. she was totally paralized! when she was able to move she turned around and saw noone.... pretty scary stuff...

Hmmms...i trully understand ur feeling..one of my friend got dat kind of feeling 4 or 5 years back..he told me dat something seem to be pressing him down..making him unable to shout or move..i guess it didnot happen to him now...My guess is dat he must be really tired or his body might be stuck, like leg or hand on someone body if u hav someone sleeping close by....Hope it does not happen again..tak care

That's so weird! I don't think I can say I've ever had that crushing ghost feeling when sleeping. I've been in dreams where I'm trying to wake myself up and it seems like I'm half-awake but I'm not.

My sis said this crushing happened at one of the apartments I lived in. She slept over and maybe the ghost was not pleased she was in my bed. Or something.

Others might call this sleep paralysis.

I've never had this happen, but I know what bei gwai jak is and I know people who experienced it before... actually my mom once had like 3 ghosts on top of her. it was scary. Later we were told the tree we had in our backyard "attracts" the ghost, so after we chopped the tree off, this never happened again...

hope this doesn't happen to you anymore... otherwise, maybe try wearing jade. My grandma says it helps.
