    Healing takes time but it takes a helluva lot more time when you're watching something scab over. Seriously. Sometimes, maybe most times, it's useless to go over it in your head. It does nothing but repeatedly disappoint. Figure out what you can, and then sometimes....there's no answer other than "Well, THAT happened."

    Get out there. Hike. Volunteer at a 5K race. Go to the library and ask for recommendations on amazing biographies. Sign up for a cooking class. These all seem like nonsense but you know what? It gets stuff off your mind.

    I just read about a study that sometimes it just is more healthy to suppress these feelings! Yes, from ME, from the ME generation. The generation that tried to promote "Let's talk about it!" Well, turns out, it's not all that helpful! Damn. My ex-husband would have loved to say "I told you so!"

    My point is, seriously, put it behind you. Literally, fake it, and then it becomes your reality! It's weird but that what this study supposedly showed.

    Maybe this really validates the song "Smile".

    But I'm glad we talked. You've got a few fans here.

    Also read your blog. You just need to pick yourself up and swipe the dust off your shoulders and move on. Get on top of things and be strong. Don't ever let anything or anyone get to you because you're the one who is really in control of your life and your view of yourself.

    Get back up Jane. Don't look down on yourself. I know you're a beautiful young lady who is very sweet and creative. Life is stressful at times but you should also learn to relax and let it go. Being a creative person you know what to do to help relieve that stess. You know on the inside what you need to do. So don't restrain yourself due to others. Stand back up and shine.

    Jane, I read your blog and wanted to comment. You're not broken. I don't need to know the facts to know you're not broken. You may be damaged, strained and sprained but not broken. You're not beyond repair until you're dead. And your posting is evidence of life. You just have to regroup. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. No, it's not trite.

    Don't let people who disappoint you define you. Don't let their failures be yours. You trusted and maybe loved. That's an act of magnanimity which is a credit to you. Don't build such barriers that you never let anyone in again because then the truly worthy will be strained out with the flotsam and jetsam. Just salvage what you can and move on.

    I hardly know you, but what I do know is that you have an innate goodness and intelligence and creativity which are attributes not possessed by many on this planet. You always have a backup plan....yourself.

    I'm old so I can tell you that I've lived through many eras in my own life. Nope, it didn't turn out how I might have planned but whatever! It is what it is or was and that's it.

    Just do your best. Place one foot in front of the other, and don't bother looking back. You've already learned those lessons.

    Hi Jane to be honest I can't remember if I did mention the shop, it's only online at the moment, it deals in witchcraft products :)

    I completely agree with you about youth days, it really does feel good to go back every now and then, who says crazy antics have to be for the kids only ;)

    I missed this years SYTYCD. Our take on it has been received badly, it's no where near as good as the american version. Thanks for the links. Last season it was hard to get any of the dances shown here, only clips from youtube. I'm going to check out the videos you sent me to catch up. I have to say that dance by champions Eric and Georgia was the best I have ever seen, even bettering the cancer dance that I cried my eyes out at. Wow unbelievable. I've got it saved on my iphone now and will be showing everyone!

    omg, hope that pedestrian was ok. The guy who nearly cut me off on the freeway was driving a huge American sedan. An equal match for my suv. He had so much road to go before the exit too. Hubby prides himself on his defensive driving but there's no way to know if something like this happens totally unexpectedly.
