WooooHoooo! I survived another Christmas season! I'm sooo happy its all over now
Tomorrow will be my first DAY OFF since Dec 1st !! Well except for Christmas day which was really not a day off because we attended my family's Christmas lunch buffet ( yes LUNCH BUFFET!WHY??!!!) and then we drove outside of the city to attend the in-laws Christmas dinner...ugghh all the food is still sitting inside me right now
We are closing for 2 weeks at our one store and then the other store will close after new years eve for 1 week...I head out to Los Angeles on the 5th of January to find new product again~And of course Vegas right before Chinese New Year because Wang LeeHom is having his concert again!!! That should be fun! I purposely didn't shop during the boxing day craze because I knew I was going to the states in January
So my hubby and I finally moved back home after almost 6 months of renos at our old place....I'm so glad that we don't have to rent anymore!! Our place has new flooring, a new kitchen, new heating and air con system...toilets that flush properly...a newly renovated basement...its GREAT!!! The conditions before we aweful (it is his parents house never renovated for more than 30yrs!!!!)
Except there are no curtains and no sofa yet ...yep! Thats what happens when I leave things to the man of the house! Not until the end of January he says!! WTH??!! why would he agree to that??!! I haven't gotten around to taping sheets up to the windows yet ~ I've been so busy lately that I just get home and basically go to bed and well I think I found a corner in the bedroom where I can change and no one can see me Lets hope I'm right about that.
I am dying to buy a vaccum cleaner cuz the house is soooo dusty!! Over the last 12 years I have bought a total of 4 vaccum cleaners but they all sucked!!...Recently I've tried my friend's and it is amazing!! Its a Miele~SuperSuper Expensive!!! But it works so well!!! How do I explain to Mr. LC that I need this $700 dollar vaccum cleaner because its the BEST?? Have any of you tried the Miele or Dyson? Wish me luck hahhaha

Sounds good! Yeah I like decorating too....makes a BIG difference to any place! :)

As for vacuum cleaners we've tried both Nilfisk and Dyson. Nilfisk is a brand of industrial vaccum cleaners in Europe and they are very good. Dyson while is great with no bag, I think is very expensive for what it does. Also I don't like the clear acrylic cases Dyson has which a) shows the dirt and b) doesn't take anything else in other than dust.

I've used Miele washing machines and tumble dryers before, and I think they ARE the best. In Europe Miele is considered the 'Rolls-Royce' of consumer products...their products are engineered to the highest quality and are built like a tank, so I would think the vaccuum cleaner is the same. In my opinion its better to buy a quality product which lasts much longer with less maintenance than it is to buy a cheap product with so much servicing hassle and eventual environmental contamination (due to constant replacement). Personally I'd go with the Miele. :)

I don't know about Miele or Dyson but I have a $300 Bosch vacuum that's awesome.

Oh yes! I was thinking you could cover up your windows with gift wrap paper. They're cheap, esp xmas paper, and work better with tape. Not sheets!

Ooh, sounds like the old house is nearly brand-new. Those upgrades make SUCH the difference. No parents will be living with you there, will they? $700 does sound kind of a lot for a vc. Does it come with a lifetime warranty? I'm sure you'll be able to own it. ;D

Is Vegas covered in snow still? I saw a report and it was snowing pretty heavily. It's the desert but it gets very cold in winter. Been there. Have a great holiday!

yea!!! Glad you are finally gonna be getting a break... =) so you're meeting up with smellyphant37 for the concert? that's awesome!!!!

hmm.. I think a vacuum that "sucks" would be good... hahaa... sorry, just had to pop that in there... =) hmm... I think my aunt has a Dyson one... but I never used it.. so I'm not sure how well it sucks! hehee... =) I'd say definitely get the nice vacuum cleaner... it'll keep the carpet nice and clean...
