Wow Los Angeles was great! even though our two days was filled with buying merchandise for our shop...this time was definately better than the last trip we made in January. The weather was hot but nice! The clothing was beautiful, and our visit at Olympic Spa was something I will never forget!
After trekking for 81/2 hours in flip flops my feet and calves were on fire! I know I should have worn sneakers but it was too hot... I couldn't wait for the spa! When we arrived we decided to add on a foot massage on top of our body scrub and facial session. Once we checked in, we were shown to the lockers and were asked to take a shower before entering the rest of the facility. The spa was clean but it was old...nothing like the ones I've ever been to. After removing all our clothing, we were given a thin cotton green robe and two towels (I was so glad we didn't have to be completely naked all the time!). We walked towards the sign that said showers then opened the door...There were about 20 woman in the room that consisted of shower stalls, a hot tub, cold tub, steam sauna, and a dry sauna. Along the sides was the area where the ladies got their scrubbing treatment., about 6 tables (covered in a plastic burberry patterned table cloth thing) and the customers lay there naked while being scrubbed thoroughly by these ladies dressed in black lace bras and panties LOL I wanted to laugh but then I remembered that I was about to get the same treatment...so I held it in.
When they called my number out loud I walked towards the door and this lady greeted me and dryed me off with a towel. I felt like a child being dried off by an elder...strange. She then said "follow me" and I followed through a hallway, went upstairs and it was like someone's house...the bedrooms were made into facial and massage rooms. My facial was very painful but I beared it, knowing that beauty is sometimes painful LOL She said "oooh you have so many...too many" I said " I know" LOL When we were done she handed my a yellow envelope with her name on it...for gratuity.
After the facial I was lead back downstairs to the shower area and one of the ladies dressed in the black lace underwear brought me over to one of the wet tables...The plaid table cloths were coated with plastic so it was slippery. She told me to lie down "face down please" and she began at my feet worked all the way up to my rear-end. She then moved up to my back and shoulders then down my arms and hands..."Turn over Please" Now this was the part I was nervous about... lying there on the table I felt like I was in on a medical table...She began to scrub with long hard strokes up my legs and sides. When she got to my chest area I was so afraid that she would scratch my sensitive areas!! Luckily she didn't, she went around the sensitive areas with the scrub gloves...she was very thorough! She lifted my arms up and scrubbed my underarms..I had to try not to squirm. After that I thought she was done but she said "lay on the side Please" So I did that and she began to scrub my inner thighs...she lifted my legs and kept on scrubbing! I was very uncomfortable at this time, I kept on subconciously closing my legs but she would have to open them up again...I was shocked! Now that is what you call thorough...So after scrubbing she poured water on me to rinse off the soap...but as I was laying on my sides I noticed stringy gray strands on the table cloth...I suddenly realised that those gray strands were my dirt!!! GROSS!!! they were all over the table and my skin...Then I started to notice the floors and every thing on the shelves, I was getting paranoid about the cleanliness in this area where everyones "Lo lai" (skin dirt) is gathering.
I shouldn't have kept on thinking about it...after everything was done my skin was soft as a babies bottom! I was touching my skin all they way home in the car. I felt so clean, I was determined to find a place in Toronto that did this as well...I would definately do this once a month!
