8 years ago.....

    Eight years ago today she entered this world. Not with a cry nor scream like most babies but a disgruntled "ack" as if her nap was disturbed. i remember when the nurse put her in my arms. i said the name we picked for her just a few days before.
"Lily"
she opened one eye in acknowledgment and then went to sleep. i knew then it was going to a very interesting ride watching her grow up.
Eight years later,  she stands over 4 foot with long curly and unruly brown hair with natural light blond highlights. She has a look in her eyes of the ones who came before her. She gets her delicate bone structure from her father's side and her tilted eyes as well ,but the rest of her is all me. when she was very small we use to jokingly call her Mini-Me.
     every morning she wakes she rubs the sleep from her eyes and looks at me with those beautiful blue/grey eyes that almost look silver and says "ohayo mommy". everynight as i've done since she was born i sing to her "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables before bed. she's funny, inventive, sweet, witty, and a bit sarcastic like me. she's also fearless.and never gives up. looking at her i can see the woman she will grow to be. her path is her own however, i will be there to pick her up when she falls. i'll dust her off and send her on her way. however else will she be able to walk proudly if she dosen't stumble a few times? she is truly my #1 fan as i am hers. We're not perfect we butt heads and disagree quite often but what do you expect when two people born the year of the dragon live under the same roof?  I am thankful i am able to watch this amazing little person grow. Life is never dull with her and everyday is a new adventure
