Hou Awarded the 'Leopard' at Locarno Festival

Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland 2007 will award reknown Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao Hsien with the 'Leopard of Honor' prize.  Hou has been nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes six times.  This year he debuted his first western production, 'Flight of the Red Balloon' at Cannes.  After Locarno, Hou will return to Asia to continue pre-production on his next project, a first millenium period piece that long time Hou collaborator Hsu Chi (who worked on Hou's 'Millenium Mambo' and 'Three Times') is said to be attached to.
