Hey guys....

I have never blogged before so it wont be as interesting as others...Hopefully as i get used to blogging it will be worth your time reading =], As you all know I'm a traveling bartender (cocktailian, mixologist, mixer etc....blah blah blah) where I go around Asia designing drink's and sharing my cocktail knowledge with fellow enthusiast's. Its a great pleasure to now be apart of "Alive not Dead".

My recent venture was Jakarta, Indonesia where I installed a cocktail menu for Loewy named after Raymond Loewy the industrial designer. I always love going back to Jakarta....nice friendly people =]

Well apart of my blogging ill be posting various stuff about my work like cocktails, trends, bars, latest news within the industry so stay tuned....

Cocktail of the week:

Pear (Nashi) Crush
½ a pear (nashi)
5mls peach liquer
45mls rum
15mls apple juice
15mls lemon juice
10mls gomme

Muddle pears in a mixing glass, add all ingredients shake vigorously, strain into a rocks glass, add crush ice, garnish with a pear “fan”... Enjoy Excellent in summer!

Melbourne-born, Nick La, is one of Asia’s foremost young bar talents and has worked in dozens of top bars, lounges, and cafes on several continents.

For the past decade, he has worked his way from the perfectionism of the F-and-B scene in Australia to the high-octane nightlife of Central in Hong Kong. His experience includes supervisory roles at Vic Harbor Kitchen + Bar and cocktail hot spots Amber Lounge and Marrakech in Melbourne, where he was a part of some of the most influential drinks programs in the country. His recent openings include Melbourne’s Baroque House, where he collaborated with masterminds from Sanderson and Match in London.

Since his move to Hong Kong in 2006, he was one of the key talents behind the immediate success of Lotus in Central, a modern Asian bar and lounge whose drinks are among the most talked about in the city. Magazines such as Standards, Conde Nast Traveler, Food&Wine, and HK have featured his outlets and his work as well.
