I become more and more lazy nowMy E is not coming home for dinner all the time, business trips/ dinner with clients......so I cook very simple everyday, for Amelie and myself, and Amelie does not eat meat, so usually, I cook a dish of vegetable, a fried egg/ tuna fish can/ sausages only.  I think I almost can be vegetarian, plus I want to lose some weight.  So almost forget how to cook properly.

Yesterday, my E came home for dinner, so I went to JUSCO to buy some clams (?not sure the English name 花甲), salmon sashimi (no need to cook).  I planned to buy black soya bean to fry the clams, but can't find it in JUSCO, so I only bought garlic, spring onion, and red peppers to cook the clams.  Well, I added some soya sauce to stir fry the clams and the other ingredients, but I forgot to add the salt, so u may ask if it's yummy?  Well, the taste is not strong enough and I can't taste the garlic too.  It's my first time to cook clams (it looks very fresh in the supermarket).  So I promise my E to try to cook again next week (if he can come home for dinner), so do you know any other ingredients I need to add to cook the clams? XO sauceAny suggestion how to cook?

    Here are the pics:

I cook pretty simply most of the time as well.  I have no suggestion for you on the clams since I never make them  My husband is allergic to shellfish.

black bean & garlic sauce, bell peppers, onion.
If it's really, really fresh, prepare in a little broth & white wine, garlic, scallions.

Hmmm I would have cooked with black bean sauce or garlic too. I think you could try to cook it with something like cream & white wine. I often buy mussels from supermarket with a similar sauce which is yummy and it's not too alcoholic.
